I weighed Sat. MAYBE down 1 lb. since I started a few weeks ago. I tend to stay at one weight for a few weeks then drop 5 lbs. suddenly, then stay another few weeks, then drop another 5 lbs. etc. I do need to exercise more, though.

Miles... it is Wednesday... how was your week?
I hate to be the first to admit no progress for another week, but I did read my WW magazine last night... a little more motivation for me now.

Oh yeah, no progress here either. Can't quite figure tthis one out. I have cut back the calories to around 1500 a day, I walk a minimum of 3 miles per day at over 4 miles per hour, I do weight lifting 3 times a week, and haven't lost a pound since I started. The only accomplishment I have to show for it was that I accidently put on the jeans in the closet that didn't fit so well, and well, I could fit into them. So I guess I am not so squishy as I used to be. Miles

Maybe the weightlifting is causing you to build muscle, which is keeping you from reducing weight. At least you know you are losing inches since you can fit better into your old clothes.

Miles I´d say that´s quite good It´s not always about inches and kg´s, you´re doing good job, keep it up

Has anyone tried e-diets.com or do you any of you know someone that has? I was looking at it this morning and was wondering how complicated the menus are they provide. I want to try something but can't see fixing one thing for me each night and something else for Andy and Cami. I really want to lose about ten pounds and like Miles it seems NOTHING I do gets the scale to go down. I know that I could be gaining muscle in some areas but I sure don't see it if I am! lol I work out at least four days a week doing 15-30 minutes on an elliptical in the morning and 30-45 minutes at Curves in the evenings...I eat right and drink plenty of water and nothing! I just wondered if a specialized diet with the right combo of foods per day would help me see the desired number on the scale.

Sorry Christy, apparently no one has tried e diets or else no one wants to talk to Flabby this week!
I am going to confess to a loss of 1/2 lb. this week, and I feel like I have been really good on the calorie intake. I have been getting LOTS of water this week... it just TASTES good right now~ that's odd!
Unfortunately, I am going to Mom and Dad's for a week, and all bets are off eating Mom's cooking and visiting my old favorite hang out... the chili dog restaurant!
I have decided that to lose 15 lbs. by Christmas is very do~able. So you are my conscience everybody!
HELP ME! ENCOURAGE ME! DON'T FORGET FLABBY!

Trid...I am almost always on yahoo between 7:15 and 4:15 EST so if you are ever feeling weak and need immediate strength, IM me and I'll see what I can do! My im is: grnidlady_chw@yahoo.
I haven't stepped on a scale this week and am resisting the urge to until Saturday. I have tried to cut down some this week on bread and have tried to eat smaller portions at dinner. The fact that I have a cold is helping because my appetite is blah! I exercised for about an hour Monday night at home since it was storming and Cam's swim practice was cancelled. Yesterday it was my normal routine of 15 minutes on the elliptical in the am and 40 minutes at Curves last night. I barely touched dinner last night due to my cold...I basically made myself eat! This morning I did my usual protein shake at 5 am and 15 minutes on my elliptical. I had an English Muffin and yogurt at 9 and brought a p-butter sandwich on wheat with a banana for lunch. Weather permitting I will do Curves again tonight and tomorrow night while Cami is at swimming. So, after this week of the usual exercise (it hasn't been long though since I was able to get back into this full routine) coupled with the subtle cutbacks of bread and smaller portions at dinner I will see what the scale says Saturday morning. Wish me luck while I wish everyone else the same!!!!

I can relate to thinking something big has happened during the week, and step on the scale and nothing happened. After about 10 times of doing that I changed my attitude. It was really getting me down. So I started looking at the positives. In 3 weeks, I have walked 84 miles in 21.5 hours. I have one of those scales that measures body fat and I am down 3% consistantly. I guess I can say I have had a 1 pound loss in weight for the past week. Total loss 1 pound in 3 weeks. But I have converted 5 pounds of fat to muscle. My pants fit better and I feel like I am accomplishing something. So even though the pounds are not coming off, I am still making progress. Can't wait to see what my chlosterol has done at my Novemeber physical. I did the exact same exercise and diet back in March and ended up losing 6 pounds by this time. This time is different for some reason. Hang in there and keep up the good work!! Miles

way to go everyone! maybe the cooler weather is getting everyone revved up! i didn't weigh today because i feel like i'm doing pretty good. trying to watch what i eat and building up my exercise routine. if i get on the scales and haven't done well then i'll be depressed and eat! so thought i'd just keep feeling like i'm doing great and weigh in another day! Keep it up everyone! karen

Down another 1/2 lb. today, which is fantastic considering a week at my parents' house! We went to the favorite chili dog house twice! I only ate 3 dogs both trips (they are mini dogs, so it isn't THAT bad!... Michael ate 19!). Plus my neice's birthday cake, and my dad is a cookie-holic so I was badly tempted and quite often gave in. I guess I could have lost a LOT this week if it weren't for the cookies and cake and hot dogs! They are now forbidden for this week!

oh well Trid...you gotta make exceptions sometimes, esp. when you are with family out of town!
I stepped on the scale this morning and have lost about three pounds!!! I think a pound or two of it was water weight, but hey, I'll take it! lol I changed up my routine a bit when a dear friend of mine reminded me that walking was what got it all off of me initially...so I have been walking in the evenings when Cami is at swim practice and have changed to do a weight training/cardio interval Denise Austin DVD workout every other day in the mornings.
Here's to us all keeping up the good work!!!

Way to go. If I look short term, not much progress, but for the month I am down 2 pounds. I guess it will just take longer to reach my goal. For work I am looking at pavement conditions for the City so, I end up walking 5-7miles a day. Only 180 miles to go. Keep up the good work!! Miles
