I started walking in March, right before easter. I have lost about 22 lbs and have gone down a pants size but have hit a plateau at the moment. I refuse to " Diet", but if I keep busy I dont eat as much. I walk 5 or more miles a day, mow the lawn, etc. Im not into weight lifting or "working out" type stuff.

Well, not the most productive week on the diet front, only lost one pound. But I have painted 3 rooms, mowed the lawn, purged the dining room of 2 large trash bags full of junk, collected 3 bags of clothes (so far) for the thrift shop, skinny dipped twice, got a sun burn, and it is only Thursday. I still have 3 days left to finish my house makeover before the boys/men come home from camp! Again, with the heat and humidity, I think some of the weight is water gain. I haven't been eating too much, but I sure have been drinking lots of water.
See you all next Wednesday,
FLABBY!

Karen, hang in there... tomorrow is another day. Just take it ONE AT A TIME. Just because you have one bad day, doesn't mean to throw out the whole plan! If you broke one dish in your set, you wouldn't throw out the rest. Same with your diet and exercise program.
The goal is to make a little improvement each day... it didn't take you a day to get out of shape, and it won't take you a day to get back in.
You are on the right track, just take it at your own pace!
HUGS! from Flabby!

Little improvments, that is all we can ask for. My mother in law keeps telling me that "you did not put it all on instantly, it won't come off instantly." If you look at it that way I should reach my target weight in 15 years. With that being said, I gained a pound this past week. Miles

I guess since my "baby" is 8, I can stop blaming him for the pooch ;D ;D
I saw a celebrity that just had a kid and looks great.....why can't I have money for a babysitter AND a trainer ;D ;D
Oh wait, let me just chase the wasp around the house for a while.....or let him chase me ;D ;D
Congrats on all of your losses.

Wow, we had a busy week posting. I had to go to page 2 to find this. Anyway, I have been good this week. Eating my 5 fruits and veggies a day and drinking a half a gallon of water. I started walking during lunch this week and have logged 9 miles so far. The end result is that I have lost 3 pounds. Hopefully I can keep this going after a month. Miles

Great job! My weight is bouncing around so I'm afraid to say that I've lost anything. I've decided that since DS eats at least as much as I do and is skinny, I should be active whenever he is (i.e. run around the house with him). Then I will lose weight for sure! ;D

Kaiti--- ;D ;D ;D ;D I had both kids c-section and my baby is 14 ;D. I now say my "pooch" isn't from my kids~~~it is scar tissue ;D ;D ;D ;D. I now feel brave enough to join " Dear Flabby" as now I don't work in a resturant anymore but am happy to say that I have lost 5 pounds and hope to get back to my pre-Pompeii weight (Pompeiis was the name of my work place until Wesco bought us). We used to make pizzas and breadsticks and had a deep-fryer and now I know you can guess what I munched on all day. It was worse when we had a taco bell in our c-store. Man do I love them sides of rice and beans. I am hoping once my shoulder is on the mend I can at least go for walks again. It is bad when I couldn't even go for a walk, had to quit curves and couldn't even bounce on the trampoline.

for FinnDad! Welcome to the Fab Flabs! I weighed in Wednesday, no change, but that is better than the plus! I have to lose 25 kg. but my goal is 5 kg at a time. This week, with the heat, the kids have convinced me to change all my digital electronics to metric readouts! I have been driving about 60 kmh, and the air temp. is only 40*C. Somehow it just doesn't SOUND as hot saying 40* instead of 104*. I feel like I am speeding at 60 kmh in city traffic... And weighing less than 100 kg is definitely a happier number! I vote for METRICS!

Ok, metrics is fine, give us the conversions Trid. I have been keeping up with the good food and exercise with no change in weight. I did lose a percent of body fat, so I guess I am making progress. I love instant feed back with numbers. If I am walking I do it against the clock, I can see if I am doing better or worse. If I eat, I count the calories. In theory the lesser the calories the less the weight. It is frustrating to think you are doing good with the diet and exercise and want to see the result of a weeks worth of hard work and not have anything to show for it. I did walk 22 miles in 90+ degree heat last week, which is more than I would have done otherwise. Wait and see. Miles
