Seems that post is buried pretty deep in the stack. Last night I was watching Celebrity Fit Club, a show where "has been" actors try to lose lots of weight. I found myself around the same weight as some of the fellows and thought it would be fun to see how I measure up against them with will power. Only time will tell, but I have 15 weeks until the final weigh in. It sure is nice to feel like I am being challenged by the stars, or have been stars. Want to give it a try? Miles

How can I forget Dear Flabby? She hangs around me ALL THE TIME... EVERYWHERE I GO! I started again seriously trying to lose. I got the DVD called "Pilates for Dummies" and have been working on that. I weighed myself on June 22, when I consider my new start date. I have lost 7.5 lbs so far. I should have measured myself, but I can't find my measuring tape. I know what size I just bought in May, so I will use that as my measurements. In this humid weather it is easier to drink lots of water. And it is just too darn hot to cook, so we are living on salads anyway. So, what day do we want to weigh in each week?

Pilates, isn't that where you are rolling around on a ball? I am not coordinated enough to do that, I keep falling off ;D. I was thinking about the weigh in on Wednesdays, at least that is when the show is on. Miles

Wednesday is OFFICIAL CHECK IN DAY!
And Pilates is actually as simple as doing mat stretching on the floor. You know... touch your toes, and lie on your back and do leg raises. Get on your hands and knees and kick your leg out behind you, or to the side. Modified sit ups.
I found most of the "experts" also have a DVD out for Yoga as well.
You have to understand, I was born as a left-handed, blonde, female of Polish descent to West Virginian parents... I don't do CO~ORDINATED... I even dislocated my shoulder once getting up from a toilet! If I can do pilates... anyone can!

Ok. My weight is up another 5 lbs. so today I started back on trying to lose. We go on vacation in a week, so we'll so how it goes then, but I don't think it will be TOO bad because we're visiting my parents who are also trying to lose. We're both using Weight Watchers (I'm using their plan but not going to meetings). I've decided that you lose weight with them because you spend so much time logging and counting points that you don't have time to eat! ;D
Unfortunately, I don't have much time to exercise right now. I'll be working 10 hour days this week. I hope to be able to get back to that soon, though.
I don't mind telling you that I weigh 140 and would like to get down to 120. I'm not going to tell you my height, though!! ;D

i've been weighing myself on friday's, before the weekend downfall! i never really remembered to take measurements but will be able to tell by how my clothes fit. i have lost 8.5 lbs since i started doing more regular exercise. have been on a two week hiatus from excercise unfortunately so don't expect to be doing well next time i weigh. i did get back to it this morning tho. i will try to remember to weigh myself in the morning and see how i'm doing. good luck to all who will also be checking in tomorrow. and there is no way i'm going to say how much i weigh, no matter how tall i am!!! it's way, way, way too much unless i was about 7' tall, at least! karen

Can I join your team? I started doing e-diets in May, and have lost 11 lbs. Exercise is my big problem (finding the time and energy). I've been doing 1.5 mile circuits around my neighborhood, but with the heat/humidity of the past week, I switched to swimming with the kids (it's not laps, but it's exercise, believe me!). I still have 5 more pounds to lose, but I've already dropped a size in clothes from a 12 to a 10. I'd like to get to an 8, but will be happy to be under 150 lbs. (I was 163 when I started and am now 152 - I'm 5'10" tall).
As for inches, I haven't measured, but I know I've lost - my thighs are definitely slimmer and my waist and hips (real problem areas) are slimmer because my skirts are looser. I feel better because I'm eating healthier. Mostly I've cut fat and cholesterol, and reduced portion sizes. That's a biggie - we don't realize how huge portions have become over the years! I don't deny myself some chocolate or ice cream, but make it small portions and only every few days. There are also some really yummy substitutes out there.

well i'm thoroughly depressed after the weigh in this morning. but i'm telling myself it's the lack of exercise for two weeks that caught up with me. i may not weigh myself next wed so that maybe i can catch back up. but i'm still here! hope everyone else did better than i did. karen

Hey, we all have ups and downs, maybe we should do this every couple of weeks. No sense in being a slave to the scale I managed to lose some weight, and about a half a belt hole on the belt, so some progress is being made. To date, no exercise, just eating differently. I will have to see how far that takes me before having to find time to exercise. The tough part will be maintaining after a month. Miles

I couldn't bring myself to log my weight yesterday... I have been working at Cub Scout Day Camp this week.
Our weather has been in the high 90*'s all week with really high humidity (dew point of 77*). We have been pushing the boys to drink LOTS of water, so I gained about 5 lbs. this week in water weight.
I went to bed early last night, with my feet elevated and the air conditioner on. So, this morning, I pee'd away those same 5 lbs.
All the sweating is awful, and we are out in the woods so we have bugs attracted to us. I can't wait to get home and jump in the pool every afternoon!
Next week I should do better.

My family and I went to an ice cream place tonight, and I DIDN'T EAT A BITE (no licks either, not even while I was holding DH's cone for him). I sat at the table and watched the 3 of them eat. I realized later that I could have had non-fat frozen yogurt, but didn't want to bother by then. I had planned to finish DD's ice cream for her, but she ate it all so I just came home and ate my little snack. Was I good or what? ;D I wish I could drop 3 lbs. just for that!
