Well, I was just sitting here wondering why I'm not done cleaning( yes, still) and then it dawned on me.
Just to open another subject, and since this is misc. I figured this would be perfect.
Let's forget about our troubles and families, and think about where you live and if there is anything your town or city did to get put on the map. I don't mean the Rand-McNally, but historically speaking.
For such a small town, Alloway is the home of the First Glass Making Factory in the Country. Sandy soil helped that out. Not many people think of things like that, but then again we are all so busy it's kinda hard to.
Little Known facts, well known facts, what are y'all proud of from your neck of the woods, or park if your in the city?

Hi rosyred45. We just had the Grey Cup here in Regina, Canada, where I live. It is Canada's professional football championship game. What a party we had for a week. A man from Atlanta told me that it was better than going to the Superbowl. This year the Edmonton team defeated the Montreal team. The last time that the Grey Cup was here, Doug Flutie, who is now with San Diego was playing with Calgary. We sure love our football!!

Wasilla is famous for several Olympic gold medalists for winter games. We have Tommy Moe, and a few others I cant remember their names. We also have the famouse 1100 mile Dog sled race, The Iditarod. It leaves from Anchorage and goes to Nome. Its a grueling race in fridget weather conditions. PLUS.. I live here.. not famous for anything, but I do have a mouth and dont take $&^$#^ from people and I advocate for the Handicapped children who have been "thrown away" by parents.

My husband has actually tried to talk me into doing one of those Alaska cruises, but God didn't give me gills or wings, so that's sorta outta the question.
But I'm sure with the Iditorad(?sp) you get some people around.
I've seen pictures, it looks grueling.
Kaiti p.s. I used to have a Doug Flutie trading card, the tom boy that I was, but I think mom pulled a mom and threw it away.

But I'm sure with the Iditorad(?sp) you get some people around. I've seen pictures, it looks grueling its way cool here and the northern lights are breath taking. There is a long route to get here.. The famous ALCAN Highway. I highly recomend you drive it in the summer as its miles and miles between towns and breakdown in the winter could be fatal if not prepared. Take the Alaska Ferry from Bellingham Washington to Haines Alaska (3 days on the ferry) then, its a 16 hour breath taking drive to here from there. Bring a camera, you'll see moose, caribou, mountian goats, wild birds, and eagles that are like pigeons..

Man, If I show this to my husband, which I will, he will find a way to do it. Thanks. I still get nervous on boats, it's a fear, phobia, whatever you want to call it.
Any how, I'm fine as long as somebody doesn't ask me every three second," Are you OK?" then my mind thinks of worst case senarios.
Any how, Thanks for th info, I'll show this to him when he and another guy get off the phone talking about hunting.
I'll be here till next week> ;D Kaiti

The Alaska Marine Lines is a little known secret here. Its just like a mini cruise ship, but for 3/4 the price tag of the big name cruise ships.. The Columbia ferry is the largest of them all, it has a formal dining rooms and a cafe. Bring a portable DVD if you have kids, you can even get off at various towns it stops at along the way. No TV, no phones.. just relax and watch the scenery. Plus your car is on the bottom deck coming along with you, campers too will fit.

I live in Valley Forge, PA and I doubt I have to tell many about the history here, although my first week here, Christmas 1999 it was 70 degrees and sunny (Why did George Washington have trouble here?)
I was born and raised in Dalton, Massachusetts, home to Crane Paper Company. Crane is the ONLY company ever used by the US Treasury to supply the paper for US Currency. So next time you open your wallet and pull out a green back, think of me ;D ;D ;D

We have the rodeo the last weekend in April here in Clovis, CA, the gateway to the Sierras! Our downtown area has been refurbished to maintain the small country town atmosphere. And across the freeway, we have Fresno State, home of the Bulldogs!
