Well first day of school went great here. Amber just loves all her classes, especially band. The band director was talking to her about learning to play piano along with her flute if he can find someone to tutor her. Dan was put in reg ed english, so I had to go talk to the councler this morning (same guy who told him he would never be an arcitect if he took resource english) to have him moved. He had no notes on the year end meeting last year about Dans highschool placement, so I informed him Dan has an IEP for resource english and he had better be moved per instructions. Other wise Dan had a great day. The varsity strong safty in football has a dislocated shoulder, so Dan will be playing on the Varsity team friday for the scrimmage. We dont start actual games untill sept 9, so by then the regular varsity player should be back. He was telling me about his day, and had to metion that the only class where they have assigned seats is the only one his girlfriend is in. So of course they are not sitting together. The two teachers he did not already know, he said seem to be very nice. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this year to continue as good.

~~~happy because they need to get away from each other so hopefully the bickering will be over for awhile. I hope they have a good day~~~ Hope they have a good day too! (So my two boys aren't the only ones that fight like cats and dogs....It's so nice and peaceful here when the big guy is at school.)
DS was actually excited for school to begin. He said he was thinking about ways to obey. Yesterday was his first day, and today he said he had a good day--for the most part, but won't tell me what went wrong.
Jareds first day back and we find that the one teacher I dont get along with (she sees no reason for IEp's or 504's ) will be teaching 3 of his classes. As teachers retire they are not being replaced. She now does reading, spelling , and grammer...along with the a/c reading and homeroom. He has a sub for science (the reall one is out having baby) and it is a sub that Bud had alot of trouble with. BUT I am still glad he is back in school. I will deal with it.
The first 2 weeks of school is what teachers refer to as the "honeymoon period". The kids are excited to be back with there friends and some things are brand new. Then Watch Out ;D ;D ;DThis is REALLY interesting .... because back when Sam was still at school it was DURING this first couple of weeks I could MOST expect a phone call!! ... Once the first couple of weeks were over he would then "settle down" and get on with the term !! ... It is really interesting how different kids react differently!!
In first grade DS was terrible at the beginning, but got better after he settled into a routine. Last year he was ok at the beginning but then got into trouble later. His teacher called yesterday (as they always do at the beginning of the year to say "I'm glad to so-and-so in my class") and said the DS is a model student!!!!
