OR... come to Finland any time between december and march and i guarantee you´ll absolutely LOVE the heat again ;D ;D ;D I'm sure I would! hehe I don't hate the heat really. I like my summers on the lake and all the camping trips. It's the humidity I hate! I'm like you though, I'd like to have all four seasons. Yet unlike you we have a short winter and much longer summer. Too bad I can't give you a little and you give me a little. We'd be just right then! hehe I will do just that! As far as all this snow talk, it probably is a good thing I'm so far from you and Linda! Y'all can't get to me easily to smack me one! ;D

I love the snow, I have skiied in October, and into June. I have had a snow ball fight on August 1st. If I could find a place to play in the snow in July, then my life will be complete!
I have lived in "leaf peeper" country, and let me tell you, as pretty as the leaves are, in Vermont, we learned to hate Autumn because of all the dang tourists!
Of course, in Vermont, we had 5 seasons. Summer lasted a few days most years, then came Leaf Peeper Season, followed by a long cold winter. Then at the end of winter came Mud Season, when all the school buses got stuck so school was cancelled because most students live in very rural areas that the buses couldn't get to. Finally, we enjoyed a VERY LONG SPRING, usually until mid July when the 3 or 4 days of summer would come around again!

Here school starts 8/31. They go for 3 days and then get the Labor Day weekend. I'm not looking forward to school starting, although Amy is already talking about back-to-school shopping! Taylor has been so sweet this summer that I hate the thought of sending him to school and all its problems. I'm already gearing up: revised the 504, sending that and the new developmental peds report with a request for new testing, hoping he can qualify for an IEP. I haven't been successful in getting him a tutor before school begins, so will have to do so once it starts (oh, joy!) Amy has been doing some work over the summer, but gets upset if it's something she hasn't seen before. Trying to explain to her that she doesn't have to do the whole book, and that it's for everyone, not just her school, so there might be things in there she didn't have last year, is useless, so far. The poor thing was in tears the other day over it! Oh, joy, oh, bliss - another school year! That, plus my possibly starting a new job, should make Sept. just great - NOT! Kris

:)We start next tuesday. Buy school supplies tomorrow, (PTA buys in bulk, we buy from PTA) Get letters about whoour teachers are on saturday and start school on tues. Got a friend of Rose's mom to keep her after school till I come home from work. Rose wanted to go home by herself but 11 just seemed a little too young to me for that. The friend is one of 5 and the mom stays home so she could use the money. We were driving the route last night. We are going to walk it tonight, weather permitting.

You need to share it with us. That sounds like such a sweet thing to do though. I'm liking this teacher. As for your second grader, I will hope right along with you that she has a much better year this year! I have found in years past for my own ADHD daughter that a bad year usually is followed by a good one. Mine had a bad year last year as well, so we can hope together for both of them!!

camismom,I hope all our children have a good year.I hope you are right about the next year being better.Maybe our daughters will have a better year. Here is the poem.Get out the tissues. It has finally arrived. You have no words to say.Your baby's starting school. It's the very first day. You've thought about this day with excitement and with fears,So we've given you this tissue to help dry your tears. We know you may be scared. Please know we understand. You can be sure you're leaving them in safe and loving hands. We will love them as our very own for this and many years. So please use our little tissue to dry your falling tears. After shedding your few tears, just remember all they'll learn. And think of all they'll have to share and their smiles when you return.

What a sweet poem. I'll have to share it with my sister. Her oldest will be starting kindergarten next week.
