I am NOT ready for school to start. Because that means we'll have homework and school pickup and dropoff, and cub scouts and Sunday School starting (I'll run both), and the soccer team and my volunteering at the school, and...well, I blissfully forget, but there's more.
I'm so glad we still start school the Wednesday after Labor Day and end June 16, 2006.
We're still busy this summer with activities, but it's okay. I purposely schedule nothing the last three weeks before school so my now-3rd-grader can just be a kid and I can lull around and play with him. That's our real vacation, and it's still ahead!

Registration Aug 2. They start on the 15th. Here hoping that the playground equipment we aquired is installed and they have enough teachers to go around.

We go back on August 17. On August 1 Dan starts football 2-a-days ( he works from 8 - 10 then work from 11 - 1. On august 9 both kids are working at the teachers in-service. Amber because she was class officer last year, and Dan was a peer mediator. Dan will be in 9th grade, and Amber will be in 7th. New things for both, highschool for Dan and Amber will finally get to play school sports and cheer. She is also on a competition cheer squad Lone Star Cheer Empire, and will have some competitions to go to, mostly around Dallas area. So they will be very busy this year, and so will mom and dad.

:)We start Aug 16. (why on a tues. I don't know, they allways do, they end on a thurs(?) ) Dd already has back pack, new lunch box and most of her clothes. Very hot in Texas till at least mid sept. Lots of shorts wearing thank goodness. ;D

Short wearing must be a newer policy. When I went to school in Texas, we were not allowed to wear shorts. We were HOT HOT HOT!!! Miles  |

The kids register here on the 1st (aug) but it probably doesnt start up again till the end of August..
even after having been trapped inside by the heAT the last week or so....I DONT LIKE SNOW! I am not ready to be shut in for months away from my flowers and garden..although a few yard jobs could go away and I wouldn't care... The word snow should be banned until December...or maybe January.. ;D

OR... come to Finland any time between december and march and i guarantee you´ll absolutely LOVE the heat again ;D ;D ;D Dont get me wrong, I like 4 season´s, i just would love longer summer´s and shorter winter´s more.... I hope you have good team for Cami, keep your thump´s up for ds´s sub theacher to be a good one too  |
