Oh Anne, I am sooo relieved you and yours are safe! Dear God what is the matter with people that do this? Why are they so full of hate? I will never understand. I am praying for all the people of your wonderful country. Sue

Dh said that most mornings he would have been walking RIGHT PAST Liverpool Street Station at about 8.50 a.m. (when the explosion happened there) but this morning he decided to take the "other" walking route which meant he bypassed it !! ... WOW!! That is just plain scary! It reminds me though of so many stories I have read on 9/11. Stories of a woman that survived because the heel on her shoe broke and she had to return home to change shoes.... another who had to stop and get donuts for work for her dept's weekly donut day. Little things like that that made them late and saved their lives. Your husband decides to take another route and is spared. It's amazing how such a small thing can make such a big difference. As far as what you said about this not being a personal attack against the UK but against Bush, Blair, Chirac.... I'm sure that's true and that is what makes the terrorist such horrid people. They hurt innocent people to get at the real target.

Do you know I honestly honestly cannot express to you guys how much your concern has meant to me today .... It has meant HEAPS ... !! I hope London (AND the rest of the world) can settle down to a period of peace now ... although the warnings on our tv sets tonight are: "Police warn it may not yet be over - we MUST be vigilant" ... but lets pray it is over!! Some people say that World War III is already in motion ... it started with the absolutely horrific 9/11 in New York .... It has continued with Indonesia, Madrid, now London etc.etc. !! "A war like no other war we have ever previously known" !! THANKS SOOOOO MUCH MY FRIENDS FOR BEING HERE TODAY !! ...

anne, i'm so glad dh is home safe and sound. amazing that he took a different route. makes you really think that things happen for a reason. he wasn't supposed to be a part of this, thank goodness so went a different way. i don't think this has anything to do with the olympics, because those people don't care about the olympics. now if it was during the olympics, that might be different. i think it was a matter of doing the most damage to people and a country while not getting caught. they couldn't have done that in Scotland with so much security and no one else around. they also hit us in NY, the heart of the financial district and a large enough city to do alot of damage. i'm very sorry to hear of the many deaths and serious injuries. it wouldn't surprise me a bit if this was the beginning of WWIII. this will truly be a world war too. i don't understand how anyone can have so much hatred in their heart and claim to be doing this in the name of a God. stay safe over there. karen

A similar thing happened to us the first time the Trade Center was bombed. Brian had a meeting scheduled that morning in the section that got destroyed, but it was rescheduled at the last minute. I am VERY glad. We have two mugs in our cupboard from when the building was reopened they were giving them to everyone working there. They just sit up in the cupboard a reminder..

Like the others, I thought of you immediately when I heard about the attacks. I'm so glad your DH was protected from the attack and is safe at home.

Denise, I am saying a thank you for you too The Lord works in mysterious ways I think that the cowards that did this are weak, I don't worry so as much aboutmy safety and that of my family, as I know that we are prepared for disasters and emergencies.......but what I do worry for is the innocent lives that are touched and/or destroyed. Anne, the rest of the world is praying for you all tonight. Take it in with a big feeling of warmth. I do hate to reitterate the feelings of another war, but please everyone be careful.

Oh Anne I am so glad to hear that your family is safe. I also thought of you immediately but haven't had a chance to check here until now. Your country is in my thoughts and prayers. I am so glad to hear that your DH took another route to work. What a terrible thing to happen. As soon as I heard this on the tv I knew it was terrorist~~~later on the news they said that the times the expulsions happened were the exact times of 9/11~~~that is when I knew for sure. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} and special thoughts to you Anne and your country.

Anne, You are so giving to the people's need on this site. I appreciate you and your family for the time and caring you give to all of us. I hope each member gives a prayer for you and your family as you all are feeling terror's pain. I pray the angels will keep whispering messages to your family that keep them on a safe path. Be safe, God is watching over you. You are our gift. Thanks, George

Anne, I forgot to mention that I know how you feel about the comfort that everyone's support here gives. Last year during the height of hurricane Ivan, it was really comforting to me to think of all the well-wishes from everyone here at this site.
