My Cousin was in a terrible accident

Years ago, my cousin, was in a terrible accident. He was using a jackhammer and hit a gas pipeline. He almost died then. His was burned on more than 75% of his body. Earlier this week I received a phone call from my mom telling me that Mark had been in another accident. He works in a factory making furniture. Obviously they do some type of burning to some of the wood. The company had bought a new machine similar to a forklift. When he went to empty the coals and ashes (more than 600 degrees F) the bucket tipped in the opposite direction and fell on him. He is now in the hospital fighting for his life once again. From what I was told he has already lost one of his ears, his nose and lips. If he survives he will also lose both arms at least up to his elbow. His lungs and kidneys are trying to shut down on him.

He can use all the prayers he can get. So if any of you pray....please, please, please pray for him. In some ways I think it may be better for him not to live and I feel terrible for thinking that. It would be so much easier on him....less pain. I feel like I am about to have an emotional breakdown. He is such a great guy and only 36. Please keep him and our family in your thoughts!

I am so sorry to hear about your cousin!! You and he will be in my prayers. I wish I could have some comforting words for you. The only thing I can say is don't feel bad about how you feel (regarding him living and in pain). I live in Rhode Island and last February there was a terrible fire at The Station NightClub and 100 people died, many more survived but were badly injured. I understand how you feel! My mom died of a not so common cancer 2 years ago, a very painfull one at that... It was awful, and I know what it is like to watch a loved one suffer in pain... So I too know what you mean, I dont think it sounds terrible... It sounds humane to me....

What an awful thing to hae happened, not once, but twice! I will definitely say a prayer for your cousin, and ask others at my church to do so as well! Please keep us informed!!

I feel so sorry, dont feel bad if you sometimes wish that it is better if he died. I prayed this year several times for my grandfather and asked god if he please meight die. my grandfather had loungcancer and there was notthing to do about it but wait until he died. He sufferd a lot and died the 2nd of january this year.

pray for him that he gets what he wants.

I agree with Anneke that you must never feel bad about wondering whether it wouldn't be better if he died. I too went through this when my father was dieing ... he was suffering so much and wasn't ever going to be well again ... and death was definitely the kindest thing. When he died we were all so sad but also so grateful that he didn't have to suffer any more.

I am so very sorry for your poor dear cousin. Just reading about his horrible accidents made me cringe. I am definitely praying for him and for you, as well. Please don't beat yourself up. Hoping that he will be free from suffering is not a bad thing, honey. Please let us know how he is and how you are.

We are praying for you and him also. Praying for someone to die because they are in terrible pain is ok. None of us want to see anyone suffer. Just know that God will do what is best for him.
