My little guy and I went to see "Pirates of the Caribbean" at the reruns Saturday, but he developed a tummy ache part way through so we had to leave. It seemed great to me. He has already seen it once with my wife. We want to get her the DVD of it for Christmas, but WalMart is sold out. So we might have to look around. I've got to see the rest of that movie!! My son can tell me the whole plot and what everyone says. I don't know how he can hear it and remember it so well!!

Hey D2B and jachkldavis, Part of "We Were Soldiers" was filmed near where I live. I live outside Ft. Benning where the movie is based on and the parts involving the post were filmed. The crew was here for a few months and everyone was "star watching" around my town. I know a few people that were extras. Anyway, that is a good movie, grabs you from the get-go and doesn't let go 'til it's over! Anyway, I would say I have three favorite movies: Dances With Wolves (my all-time fave) and Braveheart and The Patriot. All because they have to do with history, and I'm a big history person. We really don't watch a lot of t.v. in our house, but when we do it's usually Fear Factor. I watch alot of the History Channel ;D, my husband the weather nut likes "Storm Stories" on the Weather Channel, and my daughter is into all the preteens shows on Disney, i.e., Lizzie, Even Stevens, Proud Family, etc.

Hey all-
Cool - we had this thread on the other site - it is really fun.
My favorite movie is The Sound of Music. Why? Because it is a classic love story - true to family and country. And the scenery and the music - no words to describe the beauty. True story about Maria Von Trapp - you gotta love her spunk and loyalty. She wrote five books about her life and the Von Trapp Family Singers. It is fascinating. Someday I will stay at the VonTrapp family lodge in Stowe Vermont. Our daughter is named Maria after Maria Von Trapp!!
Favorite TV show - Emeril Rules at our house. Emeril Live is almost like a religion here. From the TV to my kitchen - it makes us all happy!!

"It's a Wonderful Life" was just on television, and my husband and I both agreed that the cliche is true:
They don't make them like that anymore!

TV show...I love the "murder" shows, anything forensic or detective. I also like things about the supernatural; there's a new show on WB (I think) called Unexplained Mysteries on Saturday nights. I love Joan of Arcadia! I also like shows about old houses, If Walls Could Talk is my favorite. When I'm not working, Regis and Kelly and The View.
I used to love Trading Spaces, but I don't like the new designers they've added.
Now...the movie...almost anything with Michael Douglas 'cause he's HOT, but I'm really not a movie nut.

Dad2Brooke, I saw the Forensic show and it was great!! I have so many favroite movies, but I think #1 is Dirty Dancing. Such a nice love story. Next is a tie, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (remember the squirll...need I say more? ;D ) And For Keeps, with Molly Ringwald. That one hits home, pregnant young , broke , crappy apartment , ahhhh the good old days...not! ;D For TV I love almost all of the cop shows but don't get to watch them much because DH detests them. Also, it pains me to say it, but I am a faithful viewer of Days of Our Lives. I just have to laugh because it is so out of touch it is almost a comedy. Just fun to watch.

OK, figured out ONE Movie that I couldn't get sick of watching. OK, I just forgot the name of it, it'll come to me in a sec.......Hockey movie with Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe......made back in the mid/late 80's......man.....if anyone could help me out with this one, I'll edited when I finally remember. Hubby just woke up. YOUNGBLOOD!!!!! Thank you hubby. OMG and having the rest of the pro hockey players to watch wasn't too hard on the eyes either.
Another movie....rebelious Teen that I was, CHILDREN OF THE CORN. MOM hated that movie. When she wasn't home, we would run to the video store, rent it and take it back before she got home. Yes, my kids wonder how I know they are being sneaky...... ;D
I'll have to think alittle more about the TV show Have a good day Kaiti

Speaking of hockey movies (which this isn't, but it ties in) The Cutting Edge is a really good movie.
Scent of a Woman is also a really good movie.
