We live in Massachusetts and had our first dusting of snow this morning. It was great, except for the normally 15 minute commute turned into 2 hour commute due to black ice every where...Oh Well, the joys of Winter.

We got a little bit of rain today, just enough for the Christmas Parade to be canceled.

Oh My, the memories, Not that I'm that old, but: In 1995, my husband and I lived in an apartment complex. New Jersey had declared a state of emergency, but Mike's boss, from DE, didn't want to shut down the plant where he worked, which was in Jersey.
By the time they got done work, 14hrs later, Mike had a couple of coworkers stay the night at our house. One guy was barely 5 ft tall. Well, snow drifts and short people don't mix. The snow drifted up about 8 ft in front of our entrance. Poor guys fell in trying to climb over. We all had to yank him out, and he lost his shoe.
Needless to say we found his shoe after a few weeks.
I LOVE SNOW!!!!! Kaiti

It is starting here!!! ;D I live in the little section of Wisconsin that is supposed to be getting 9+ inches. I am excited, but if they cancel school I will be bummed out. Tomorrow is Make and Take day. That is when the parents get to go in at 2:00 and have art class with the kids. Honey is excited and I arranged babysitting for DD2. They teacher even planned well enough that it ends when school is out so the kids won't have to feel bad when the parents go home, I can just take him along . I love smart teachers!!

lovemyson: You must be on the Cape~ my in-laws are still rubbing it in! Here in Phillie, we only got about 9 inches. The boys are reliving their past (born in the Berkshires!) But the forcast says it will all be gone by Friday after the warm rains come through Wed. into Thurs. The only bright side is I might get another weekend of Christmas shopping before ski season starts and I have to work at the mountain. Still, I would rather it come in the form of snow... it is always fun to laugh at the "locals" reaction! They actually had a "special weather advisory" on the local weather channel last night... "Surface that were wet during the day will turn to ice tonight when the temperatures dip below freezing. Ice may be slippery... use caution while walking and driving" I really had to laugh at that one. I wonder when they figured out that water freezes to ice and that ice is slippery

Hey Tridlett, Have your streets been plowed yet. Channel 6 had a bunch of people complaining the other day. Being in SJ, Salem County didn't get THAT much, but I hate running to the store when I need bread or milk only to find BARE shelves because some IDIOTS think the word SNOW and BLIZZARD are the same thing.
Oh well, waiting for the next next snow. Kaiti

It is still snowing here, but we only got about 4 inches. Schools are still open, they only closed about an hour northwest of us. Now I am just worried about the bus. It is SOOOO slippery out I wish they would've taken a 2 hour delay to give the plows a chance to get out. This is my first snow with a kid on the bus, maybe I just need to stop being such a nervous nellie!!

Tridlette,
Not the Cape but Massachusetts, North of Boston. I heard this morning we may have another storm headed this way for this weekend.....Ugh, I may never get my X-mas shopping done at this rate!
