don't know if you have been there lately but the old site was bought by Eli Lilly!!!! I can't believe it.. I bet my hubby that's what would happen and it did.. I have started a site I was hoping to reunite everyone in one place again with info and links etc.. mabye even a few collumns by perhaps Andrew's advocate and some others.. the new site is www.adhd.relatedhelp.com I have not gotten to work on it yet too much. It is a work in progress so go easy on me!!! Also if anyone is interested in contributing colums, info etc.. please email me at DLayman@neo.rr.com HELP!!! I want to rebuild our community!

Meaning reuniting us? Yes but all that other stuff, the articles the links, the general information is gone. I may not have forums but I would like to rebuild the other part and then link here... I really think the website front drew people in, and there are new people here but couldn't we draw more with a new website front?? That was my concern. I also may have some of the old discussions and forums saved we have to sort through what I got before the site went down..Put them in an archive or something
Do you think that would be a useful addition to this?

Sorka - I believe that to post threads from the old forum on a new site that will be publicly accessible, you would have to get permission from every person who posted in the thread, or you would have to get permission from the previous owner of adhd.com, depending on how the copyrights were written.
Most of us are happy here. I don't know about the rest of you, but I normally didn't even look at the homepage of the old forums. I linked directly to the forums. I didn't do anything with the rest of the site.

Linda I didn't mean to offend anyone.. I was just looking outside of us to others out there who have kinda lost that information that was out there that has been replaced by a drug company site.. I wanted to not replace these forums but link to them and offer some of that initial information that the other site had for new people out there looking for help. I am not looking to replace 'home' I am looking to help draw others in to enjoy the help and comradary that we have here, This site has been soo helpful to me and I am sure to all of us. What is wrong with sort of adding and enhancing the opportunities of other to join us? If it is that offencive I will close that site and never mention it again..
I thought I was doing something good I guess mabye I was wrong!
I'm personally dissapointed that that site was lost.

Allanque, I would certainly get any permission I could before posting anything there, I would not want to do anything wrong on that side of things.
I know that once we all got on the forums that is where we mostly went but there was some valuable information there that is good for new people. I also want to get Andrew's Advocate involved in an 'ask the advocate' column with a new subject related to advocacy every two weeks or so and some other items like that.
I think that might be of interest to people here and to people just starting out in this.

[glow=green,2,300]I really hope not to step on anyones toes here, because that is not my intent, but...[/glow] Sorka, as I understand it from reading these posts, it sounds to me like what you want to do is to build an informational website that will help people struggling with the same issues we are. Also, you plan to link to this forum, so they can come and share in our community of Acceptance, and benefit from the knowledge here and share their own. I see nothing wrong with that at all. I applaud your efforts. I would be proud to welcome them into our home. ;D

Thank you Ralph, That is exactly what I was planning. I have looked and though and tried to get a high profile name for the site and that is the closest I got. I really want to draw more people here because I have found it so helpful. I also have lost track of Miller mom and her advice because I did not get the link for her forum. I feel we got splintered and Veronika and Miller mom stepped up and worked on forums so we could continue I want to provide the other part in addition to their efforts.

Sorka Here is the link for Millermom's site. For anyone struggling with strattera questions - I would definitely pop over there. I post here most of the time but I do pop over there to lurk and sometimes post. ADHD - MEDS AND EDS SUPPORT[/b][/url]

Sorka- I think you have a wonderful idea! I love this website, and I do consider it a "new home", but there was soooo much valuable info that had accumulated on the old board. It was a shame to lose it all. If you have found a way to archive it and allow access to it again, I think that's great! Thank you!

I think it would be great for others out there to find this forum. I know that it has helped me greatly. Luckiily I found the old board days before it was shut down.

Hey Gang; Could someone please explain to me why Millermom started her own web site? Just curious? Wouldn't it be more helpful if we all posted together?

At first there was a big panic that we would all get lost and splintered when the old site broke up. So Veronika and Millermom made boards to try and prevent that.. I think that Miller mom also made a second board to try to pull more people in, she thought that there would be a bigger presence on the web with two boards.
