Have any of you ever wondered what it is teachers are truly looking for when they call you? What is it that they want out of you?
I rec'd a phone call from Cami's P.E. teacher today. Apparently she didn't dress out in P.E. today and rec'd a zero. She also didn't do the writing they are supposed to do if they don't dress out to prevent them from getting a zero. Apparently this is her third offense. Policy states that on the fourth offense they are referred to the administration where they are normally assigned morning detention or ISS. I patiently heard the teacher out and told her I would speak with Cami about it tonight. I mean, really, in the grand scheme of things, what else can I do or what else can I really say? But this never seems to be enough...teachers always want to go on and on as this one did today. On and on about how Cami doesn't seem to want to ever participate, how again this is her third time of not dressing out and again how she rec'd a zero and with zeros comes the danger of failing P.E., "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah". I repeat that I will speak with her tonight. "Blah, blah, blah" some more. Again, "I will talk with her about it tonight. "
After thr third "I will talk to her tonight" the teacher finally shut-up. One more time and I would have had to ask her what else does she want.
Luckily she can't read my mind because the whole time I'm thinking: I could care less. So what if she gets an F..it's P.E. for crying out loud! If she fails P.E. she will still pass 8th grade. If she fails P.E. she will still be able to go on and carry on a successful life. Hell, I flunked 8th grade P.E. myself and went on to be a computer operator...Cami will survive. When you say she doesn't seem to want to participate, you are right...she HATES P.E. and is only suffering thru because she has no choice. Now, if she gets in danger of flunking an IMPORTANT class like English, Math, Social Studies, or Science..call me...but don't bother me while I'm at work going on and on and on and on about stupid P.E. ok? I have too many other things to worry about and when it comes to picking my battles, this is one I will let go. So, she didn't dress out today... big deal! But if it'll make you feel better..I will talk to her tonight! ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Seriously though, this child just doesn't like P.E. She feels she gets her P.E. every night at swim practice. She is tired and her muscles are sore and sometimes she just doesn't want to play and she decides she isn't, no matter what. She is stubborn, and I don't know where she gets it from! ;D ;D
