I'm not sure how many of you remember all the struggles I had with my daughter the past two school years. We would fight over her having to get up, what she wore, doing homework (homework could take up to two hours for one page), cleaning her room, she had problems on the bus.....just seemed like she was constantly in trouble.

Well, this year she has a male teacher and it has made all the difference in the world.

We havent' had a fight over getting up in the mornings, she comes in and WANTS to do her homework, she hasn't been in trouble on the bus....in fact she was moved so that she could show others how to act on the bus Last week she came in with a book that she received as a prize for her behaviour in art class.

I just can't believe the turn around and truly believe it is the teacher.

Last Monday the principal sent home a letter stating that they had anticipated new students for the third grade classes, but weren't prepared for the amount they did receive. Now their plans are to hire at least one new teacher and move some of the teachers around. In the process they are going to be moving students as well....They were asking for volunteers but also stated that even if you didn't volunteer for your child to be moved, that it was still possible for them to be chosen.

So I sat down and typed out this huge letter of all the reasons I didn't want her moved. Now it's just a waiting game....If they do end up moving her, I'll be down at the school fighting mad....

Be sure to remind them that our children do not do well with change. Surely there are enough kids that can handle it without having to mess with yours!

I am glad to hear she is flourishing with this teacher. I'd be willing to bet it is the teacher too. Cami has always done better with male teachers too. I was the same way come to think of it! Weird, huh?

Oh, I hope she can stay with this teacher. Dan had some amazing teachers last year, and hated to say goodbye to them when school ended. This year he has more good teachers, so I am actually looking forward to school this year for the first time. If they try to move her, I would take my hat and broom right up to the school.

Aimee, sound´s good I would give some gredit to your dd too, even if the theacher is better, but she´s doing better now too Isint it great to hear some good stuff every once and a while

I would deffenately FIGHT for her not to be moved they can surely do that by moving some student´s that are not so vunerable to change as our little adhder´s, FIGHT if you have to

Well, the phone calls were supposed to be made to the parents of the children being moved today and I haven't received a phone call....so I'm assuming that she is getting to stay in that classroom *doing the happy dance*

On a down note....She got her first "write up" on the bus. I guess she lied to me about the whole the bus thing.

We had a long talk this afternoon about her behaviour on the bus and how she lied to me...just hoping it helped some.
