I am curious, what are your grade systems like?
Our district is different from anything I have encountered before.
A= 91-100 B= 81-90 C= 71-80 D= 66-70 F= 65 and below
My son has a 65.3 average... which is an F
When I was in school, that would have been a D. And we had the B+ and C- type grades to with cut offs at 87 and 73. This is just hard for me to accept the difference, when it means the difference between repeating a grade at the alternate school, or continuing at his same school with his existing friends.
Let me know how your schools work!

Cami's school .... not sure if it changes at the high school, but this is the middle school's system:
A= 91-100 B= 81-90 C= 71-80 70 and below is a F!!! they have no D's.
The system I work for is the same as Patrick's.

Here's the grading scale for middle/high school:
A=93-100 B=85-92 C=77-84 D=70=76 F=0-69
In high school our school uses a weighted GPA. Honor/IB/AP classes are weighted more than College prep or Tech prep classes. Thus, it is possible to have more than a 4.0 GPA.

The system I work for has the same as Julie's does for middle and high schools. The elementary's are the same as Cami's school except they do have D's. 61-70 is a D. 60 and below is a F.

Here are grades from middle/high school......
A 90% or greater B 80% but less then 90% C 70% but less then 80% D 60% but less then 70% F Less then 60%
This is from their progress reports that we get every 4 weeks if not sooner (if needed). They are a nice way to keep track of what work the kids have done or what needs to be done before the end of the marking period. We are very lucky (also my kids have IEP's in place) but the teachers are very good about accepting late work and redoing work to get a better grade. Next year they are going to be doing what is called REACH (Responsible Education Academics Curricullum and High Standards) I am not sure exactly how it will be done but I know it is going to put a twist on the current grading scale.
