Nathan was being tested the other day for his 3 year IEP. The tester told us that he behaved like he was not listening at all. But she took the time to wait for the answers. The results show that he does take it all in and is 1 and even 3 grades ahead of his current level in comprehension. But put him in a situation where he has to hurry and make a decision, and whamo you get nothing out of him. We really stressed that this needs to be taken into account when he needs to be tested. He had his occupational therapy removed from his IEP because of the incredible improvement in his handwriting. We hope it goes to his head and he is motivated to keep going. We always knew he was smart, we did not need numbers to tell us that, but he sure looked over the results taking it all in. Miles

I have often heard Cami talk about her own test anxiety. She says she just "blanks out" when she is taken one, though she knows the answers. I think this makes a good point.... they are looking at this test paper full of lots of blanks they have to fill in before time runs out, and the pressure is too much.
Keep us posted on this Miles.

Linda, I told him for you this morning. He just looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. But he got the point. Today he went and clipped daffodils for the teachers. We got off to a pretty good start. Miles

Oh Good for Nathan, and with it being on paper that he can do well, it is more of an incentive to show him that he can indeed do it. Great boost for the confidence
