To all Texas parents, are your kids taking the TAKS tests next week? Dan has a test each day from Monday to Thursday. Amber only has one. Do your schools do anything special to help the kids relax? Here they have bottled watter, gum, hard candy (sugar free) and peanutbutter crackers to snack on while they take the tests. Some of the schools are off this friday so the kids can have a 3 day rest before the test. (not us) What do you do to prepare the kids for the test? They're turning them into pansies! Pansies I tell you!
We weren't allowed to have ANYTHING in the room other than a pencil. Once we finished, they expected us to sit quietly and do NOTHING until everyONE was finished. I remember one of my friends (his last name is right next to mine) drawing on his hand...with the mechanical pencil. He drew blood with it, we were THAT bored.

:)Dd has allready had the reading and math TAKs and she will have the science test on the 21st. I don't know of anything specific they do during the test, but the next day they always have a party. (special food, board games movies etc.) I'll just be glad to get them over with.
