i have a daughter who has adhd,bipolar1,socail angxiety disorder.she can not handle regular school.so we will be doing home bound teaching.this is not home schooling.a teacher comes to the house 3x,s a week. my situation is how do i get her to retain what she learns.alot of times she forgets a day later or she just does'nt comprehend it. she is on concert,klonopin,abilify,trazodone.any suggestions would greatly be apprecated.she is thirteen.

Min and welcome! Your situation sound´s interesting, I´ve never heard about that kind of a arrangement. About you problem ... have you asked the theacher... mayby she can give some interesting "homework´s" as a reminder for the day´s she´s not there, not actuall homework´s but something to help her remember what she has learn lately...

WELCOME Minpin !! I agree with Linda and finnmom that asking the teacher him/herself could be a really helpful way forward .... I really hope this works out for you ... if you get a really good teacher it could make a HUGE difference for your daughter!! ... Please keep us posted and GOOD GOOD LUCK!!

What state are you in? 3x's a week just doesn't seem enough.. how do they get around the hours of instruction requirements? Do you do work with her on the other two days? There may be a better way for you to do this! Denise
