Dropped a Letter Grade

Well we got Jenna's report card last week. She has dropped an entire letter grade in Reading, Social Studies, and Math.

I didn't even realize she was struggling, aren't I an awful mom? She's still doing average work though - she dropped from B's to C's, so it's not super bad, but it's frustrating all the same.

I had to go for a medication check up last week after I got the report card and so the doctor has increased Jenna's Strattera from 25 to 40 mgs... He's hoping that the increase will help her focus a little more to get those grades back up...

Wish us luck!! I'm so ready for Summer!!!

Anna.....no you are NOT a bad mom...these things happen ...maybe the boost in meds will help

I had a teacher tell me once that grades can dropp a bit the middle of the year because the work is no longer repetisious(Spell it for me) from the previous year and when covering newer ground they dip for just a bit but most come right back up.

I just had parent teacher conf for Levi and he dropped 2 letter grades in Math . All he had to do is redo a few assignments and he would have been ok but he chose not to so he got a D. For the last nine weeks you can better believe he will be showing my all his work and redoing it if needed but the plus side is he is in track and he has to keep his grades up weekly so I will know more in advance if he is not doing it

I have daily email with Jareds teachers on top of seeing them daily AND everyone signs the assignment book and writes daily comments in it. Things STILL get by me once in awhile...sometimes you just cant catch it all.
