Ds's teacher has never dealt with him before so met with her before school started to explain ADHD and Jake to her. Last week she stopped me and was VERY concerned because Jake needed so much one on one and she didn't think he was understanding any of the work. She was afraid he was LD. I explained how he DID understand, just couldn't get the info on paper like teachers want. Some days he can. She was still concerned so I called the public school district and initiaded the refurral to do complete testing on him again. Doesn't hurt to have down on paper by the "experts" that Jake has no LDs. Well the school psych was really fun to explain all this to and I don't think she still "gets it" but by law they have to do the testing since I asked. Long story short, sorry!, teacher stopped me again yest and was shocked! Jake evidently had an "on" day and put everything she wanted on paper without help! She did apologise and we had a good laugh at moms really do know their kids! We are still going through with the testing though as I want a paper trail. I had a smug moment and we both had a good laugh over this. The teacher was not being pushy, just concerned because Jake is such a "puzzle" and marches to his own little drummer. Good for him!!!!!
