I am getting a little frustrated right about now. First she didn't have a copy of the 504, I'd like to know now that she has it, is it just there to look nice Midterms came out for hte school and Mikey apparently has "limited progress in the ability to work independantly :oNo not Mikey Can you say DUH yet The teacher comments: MICHEAL DOES NOT WORK WELL ALONE (insert DUH here). DOES WELL WITH WHOLE GROUP. (this actually surprised me, pleasantly). HE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HIS WORKS SKILLS( INSERT ANOTHER DUH HERE) Ok, does she say how he can improve his work skills? Nope, any ideas on how to go abouts trying to NO. I love his teacher to death because he loves going to school and all the sciencey stuff, but give me a break. I know I am sounding like the mom who's kid does no wrong, but quite the opposite is true. If I didn't work at hte school afterschool, he would have a time having to go back to the classroom and get what he forgot. Heck, I've even checked other kids folders to make sure what work the class had to do. This week NONE of them had the homework list for the week, so how in the world am I supposed to know what he's supposed to do Thanks for listening, I'm glad to see it sometimes gets easier for some of you. I wish it was that way now for him

Kaiti dont you hate it when they are your friend´s/cointance´s that you have to get along with Sometime´s working at school may be a huge help, and then again time´s like this and it´s a pain... Put some pressure on the 504 issue, if she doesn´t get it then pressure harder I keep my finger´s grossed for you to get this working, but if anyone, you can do it

I agree with you while I'm laughing, because it is so true!! I always laugh when I see things like this, because that IS the first thing you think. DUH! The kid has ADHD, of course she's "a little slow getting her work done", or "having trouble staying on task".
You really do want to call them and say, "well DUH!! It's called A-D-H-D. lokk it up." ;D

While this is funny it is frustating too! I have the same problem, I hear Jake is not turning in his work. Well, to quote you, DAH! I have told them and told them to ASK him to get his homework out of his backpack. It is done, just riding around with him because one of his biggest problems is FORGETFULLNESS, goes right along with the INATTENTIVENESS, and the LACK OF FOCUS! DUH, again quoting you. ;D the school psych actually told me that LD and ADHD are two separate things....DAH again. Do I have STUPID written across my forehead?! I want to have her come live with my family. Bet I know more on this subject than she will in a lifetime! I actually have to laugh at the smugness and stupidity so called experts exibit sometimes! Keep the faith and keep pushing forward Rosy!

I just don't get it. ???Why on earth when you know how a kid is, you don't try to nip it in the bud. To her credit she has 25 or 26 other kids in class, but still. Reminding to stay on task IS part of the 504. I'll get my mom to look like the "B" or "W" she's better at it than I am. ;DBesides they work together, so it would be professional to professional. . The things I don't like about rural schools: your kids having the teachers you did ::)I think that's why I have a hard time with confrontation here Thanks, I will let you know if you need to get me the broom.

Heck even when we are in the teacher's room, everyone else is for the most part a first name basis, here I am calling some of the teachers by their maiden names still See, Mama did teach me respect, just a matter if I use it or not

You should realize by now that MOST, not all, teachers are afraid to THINK outside the box. Meanwhile, our kids have climbed out of the box, and are trying to tape everyone else back inside the box so that the world can function OUTSIDE the box. What is wrong with that?
I wish there were no boxes at all, but there are too many people who LOVE boxes and can't function without one. But when will they learn that some of us can't function WITH one unless we are using to climb all around the world jumping from one to another trying to find a comfortable one!

That's a good point, talking about society as a whole. There are so many people want a ones size fits all EVERYTHING that there isn't any room for being an individual.
God forbid my kid listens better when he is reading ot fidgeting with something.....still trying to get hubby to realize the UNDIVIDED ATTENTION IS WORSE ::)then he just zones you out.....had a lecture last night and Mik egot mad because Mikey was figdeting with his hands.
Oh well, off to work with the lovely(meaning that) children, at least the witch isn't working today ;D
