I asked God (submitted by Jorgy) I hope that you can get the effects on your computers! The words are great, but the movements of the faces add a lot.... I asked God to take away my habit. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned. I asked God to give me happiness. home.ripway.com/2003-10/33175/clown.gif[/img]God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. home.ripway.com/2003-10/33175/iloveyou.gif[/img]I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own! , but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. ;D God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things. I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me. God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea. THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY May God Bless You.

It's not easy, it took me about 20mins to get them on this board. You have to save them like you do a picture, then upload them.
I can add some of them to our 'icons' for each post....but I have to replace some that we have. I can't add more.

Hot dang!
I was at Saturday church service and the youth pastor came to talk to the parents while the kids did their own thing.
I'm dang glad they have such a savvy dude helping guide them through these crazy years. And I sure felt like his eyes were boring through my brain a few times.
I need to talk again and again to my sprouts about how when a girl says no it means no. When a girl says i don't know it means no. when a girl says I'm not sure it means no. And dang it any girl under 16 who says yes means no. We'll take 17 under consideration. But my gut feel is a 17 year old girl who says yes really means no.
Parents of daughters are welcome to set me straight. But I suspect you're on my side on this matter if no other.

Sierra, I agree with you. At that age they just don't have enough life experience to make a decision and carefully consider all the possible consequences. Even though at 18 they are legally adults, most of them don't have the wisdom at that age either. And then add in the ADD...oh my gosh!

great poem! the message are so true as well.
i have to agree, that any girl who says yes at 17 really does mean no. or at least she doesn't realize what she's saying yes to. not that she doesn't understand she's saying yes to sex. but that she's really looking for soemthing else.
i agree about the maturity aspect as well. i keep hoping dd will start to catch up with her friends soon. but who knows.
i also talk to my ds about no meaning no, period. he just turned 15. he's gone out with a couple of girls, nothing too serious or too long and almost always in a group unless they were at our home with one of us home.
i've tried to make sure he understands from a very early age to respect a girl's wishes when she says no. glad to hear other parents of sons are also spreading the word.
