I just have GOT to get this out. Partly because I'm jealous that I didn't get it at school, the other part is that Mikey may have found his niche.
For the past 3 weeks, the kids have been excited about hte ELP we have here. There is
Leadership: they research an organization and try to make a difference positively that impacts the thoughts of hte children and help the org.
Art: submit a portfolio adn if you show promise, you get in to that
Physcomotor: The athletic type so those that aren't brainy but good at sports can be there.
Chorus: Tara is doing that one. Obvious as to what it is.
And last but no least
DRAMA: this year they changed it so that it will be one program, hopefully a musical.
Anyhow, Mikey was talking abou tit and talking about it, but never even turned in his permission slip----he lost it I asked him at the beginning of last week if he memorized his poem that they need to try out with. OF course not, what are you nuts, thinking he'd do something before it absolutely had to be done
As of last Thrusday when he started to read it, he didn't quite get it. Tara has her poem down, she just needs to slow down when she is reciting it.
Mikey gets up in front of hte SACC kids AND recites he poem :oI did have to prompt him. ONE TIME
I asked the teacher in charge if she could handle him. Well, she was Tara's teacher last year, and she said of course. "this might just be his niche" and when I told her this morning he got it down.
"Mikey must be a quick study"
Keep him in your thoguhts today and cheer him on for me :DThanks
