Landmark College

Landmark College is hosting a series of information sessions around the country for families and professionals interested in learning more about their higher education program for students with ADHD and/or learning disabilities.

While many colleges offer programs for students with ADHD, Landmark College is one of the only accredited colleges in the United States designed exclusively for students with dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or other specific learning disabilities. It is widely regard as the nation's leading college for students with these conditions.

The information sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about how Landmark College has effectively addressed the higher educational needs of students with ADHD for over two decades, and to meet with current students and staff for in-depth discussions of Landmark's program.

Landmark does have a great reputation, and innovative instructors.

Vermont is a beautiful state, spoken with pride from by a former resident!

Putney, Vermont, is about 30 miles north of Greenfield, MA. Southern Vermont does get cold in the winter and does get snow... but contrary to popular opinion, it isn't the snow bound climate that you think of when you hear Vermont!

Yes, they get snow, sometimes whoppers, but I can remember Christmas time as a child more than once with no snow and temperatures in the 50's. I also remember one year when it didn't get above 0 for two weeks. But as a whole, the weather should NOT deter a potential student from looking into the college. It is less than an hour from the BIG city of Springfield, Massachusetts but still quite rural.

Yes it is in Vermont, and yes it is a wonderful place to be.

That area of the country is very much like your neck of the woods. It was really fun driving to Buckshorn because there was green grass, and corn fields and long country road with custard stands and no developments! I was a little homesick after I crossed the Del-Mem. bridge, but it was a good homesick feeling! It is nice to know that there is still "country" in our area!

I love it here, and it's very hard to stay away. Tried 3 times to move away and it kept calling me back.

I havent' really started college shopping yet... I guess with a freshman in high school, I should get going on that.

Landmark 2004-2005 Tuition with Room and Board is about $43,000 for the full year (30 weeks).

I will let you know how it compares as I start shopping!

I paid $305/ semester for the 7 semesters I was at college. Plus books. Of course I lived at home with Mom and Dad and took the city bus to school.

But I was making $19.03/hr. when I quit the job in my degree field in 1999. So, there is a lot to be said for a quality education!

If there were any way I could possibly afford it, I would have spent at least a year there, just to learn the study skills.

Good grief, that's unbelievably expensive! My oldest (a 15-year-old sophomore) wants to go to Julliard. That's ONLY $36,000! Guess I should feel lucky, huh? Guess he's not going unless he gets a scholarship good for about $35,000 of it!

I'm guessing that we moms and dads do exactly the things that are offered at Landmark - every single day. We tutor, teach organization, reteach subject matter, review, coach, encourage, counsel. So, I suppose that the Landmark tuition shows how much we are 'worth' from an economic standpoint.

It is discouraging to know that such a school is almost certainly out of the price range of most kids like ours.
