Dan has been nominated to be a Jr High Peer mediator. His name was put in by several students and teachers, and yesterday he had his interview. If he gets selected he will go for a full day of training, and then will become a kind of peer counceler. About 20 kids were nominated, and they will take 12 into this new program. We have a new school counceler this year, and she is starting it. He really wants to be in this, so wish him luck please.

The middle school I worked at several years ago had a peer mediation program! It was quite successful and a very good experience for the participants. Oh, and I agree with Marja - it speaks volumes that he had so many fellow students nominate him! Good luck Dan! |

He has my support..It is a wonderful program.We have them in our elementary schools too.To be picked by your peers is an honor.

I hope he sees how worth while it can be. The ones at our school start off in K so that the kids know who they are and they go over things with them. Great program, congratulations Dan  |

Well, he is one of the chosen few. Tomorrow and Wednesday he goes for training, and then we will see just how this program works. He is looking forward to the training classes. He told me the names of the kids chosen, and they have a very diverse group. I think that will be a big help.

Diversity is very good when it comes to mediation, you can bring different aspects to situations.
