Oh Madison I DO know what you mean about the younger teachers vs the older teachers ... Over the years when Sam has had any problems with at teacher it has always been the younger teachers - especially student teachers - and especially those who spend a lot of time raising their voices!! ... On the other hand the older teachers who seem to just "gain respect" without raising their voices at all he has huge respect for ... and PREFERS to have teaching him... he says they "make you learn things much better" .... Hmmmm..!!! And Tridlette I asked Sam about WHY he though the teacher was standing sooo close behind him. Sam said it was between lessons and he WAS 'PERHAPS' fooling around 'a little bit' (but only being a bit "silly" Mum!!) with his friends and this MIGHT BE why the teacher was stood so close !! Hmmmm again!! ... However, the "accident" itself appears to have been shelved ... and Sam says he has seen the said teacher around who has said nothing further about the incident/accident! ...

Anne, I'm still laughing because when I first read - actually skimmed! - this post, I got the impression that your son stepped on the teacher's HEAD.
Back to you say, we say...we usually say department chair. I suppose it would be a bit more acceptable to step on a chair than a head. What do you think?

oh adhdtimes4 you have got me giggling as well .. HEAD !! Oh can you IMAGINE?!?!? ... Well ... Sam DID the detention this afternoon ... it was meant to be for 1 hour but the teacher let him go within half an hour. Teacher was apparently REALLY NICE (!) ... he said he respected the fact Sam was there (do some kids actually not turn up for detention I wonder??) ... and that he would far prefer to see Sam in the corridor and around the school and for them both to smile and say "Good Morning" than for them to become enemies ... (Sam said he agreed with EVERYTHING the teacher said because he wanted to get home!! )

This is my first post! (Actually I think I found this site originally about three years ago when my sons were first diagnosed) My 15 year old (ADD) son threw a rock at school and accidentally hit the janitor who came around the corner in a moving cart. He apologized profusely. His sentence is two days of suspension and we are supposed to sign a behavior contract with the school for the rest of the semester. This is the first time he has been in trouble. He has been at the same private school since Kindergarten. I think this is a bit harsh since this too was an accident. My older son (ADHD) went to the same school from K-11 and gave up last year. He had years of discipline problems (99%minor) I am afraid they are reacting to my older son's history. The only good thing about my older son dropping out is that I don't have that dreaded feeling that the school is going to call. Now I am scared it is starting all over again. I am starting to freak.

Hi Kathy!!! ... I agree from this and on reading your other post that this is downright harsh ... especially the "contract" you mentioned in your other post ... Oh I am sorry that the school are seeing it this way .... Comparatively Sam has got off extremely lightly and as you say both incidents were "accidents" ... Am going to look in more detail at your other post re the contract they are expecting you to sign .... That is a big pill for your son to swallow as the result of an accident for goodness sake!!
