I don't know what to make of this, but my daughter, who is severely afflicted, just does not get 'The Far Side.' I thought about this, and realized that a fellow adult ADD sufferer I know DOES get 'The Far Side.' And then I thought of the child of a friend who is very ADHD, and that young man does NOT get 'The Far Side.'
So I'm wondering, could not getting 'The Far Side' be a child-specific consequence of ADHD?

I don't know. to be honest with you, I LOVE THE FAR SIDE. My son and daughter both do too, but after they read whatever kind of comic that they do, they laugh at first, knowing it is funny, then they pick it apart. What if that really happened Mommy, could that really happen Why did that happen How come............ ..............blah blah blah Tara is 9 and Mikey is 6, but I think with the sense of humor that we have raised them around, maybe that's why. Off to clip comics and anonomously place them in strategic places and mailboxes ;D Kaiti

TFS is one of our whole family's favorite. turbo loves it too, and his humor runs to dry wit, sarcasm, puns, not just the old slap-stick stuff. that, he can't stand. 1mom

The Far Side is awesome. I was really upset when Doug Larson stopped putting it in daily newspapers.
Just like I was upset when "Calvin and Hobbes" by Bill Watterson and "Bloom County" by Berke Breathed stopped running daily.
They were awesome as well. I always though Calvin was ADHD.
About the only good one left in the newspaper is " Dilbert" by Scott Adams. I hope it doesn't go away, or there will be no reason to go to the funny pages.

Oh, we used to get home from Sunday school at about 10:50am, get changed and fight over who was going to put on the 3 stooges at 11. Mom used the Stop fighting or you won't watch anything tactic. It worked ;D
Oh boy, make me feel like a little kid again Kaiti
