It is very precious. My sweet 10 yr old "fire boy" is in love with Rebecca Bloomberg. He was getting a hair cut at the barber shop with his dad and brother when he saw her. She was next door having a tai quan do (sorry don't know how to spell that) class and there is a large window he looked in and saw her. He was making faces in the window acting like a fool and making her laugh.
This little girl is in his class at school and he said she is the captain of the team. Well, she picked him to be on her team and ever since then he's been in love.
Should I just ignore this or should I counsel him not to act like a fool? I'm afraid what could happen if the other kids in his class find out. Any advice?

How sweet!! Yes, I would talk to him, yes. Very important.
I saw a similar thing happen yesterday with my dd9 at tennis practice. There was a boy who hadn't been there before. Cute. Very animated. Couldn't stand still. Probably ADHD! She thought he was too cute. I think he thought the same thing about her. They became partners in some of the drills. They were even patting hands like the top double players do in the big tournaments after they hit a shot. I thought, "What ARE they doing?" There was some big time chemistry going on. Then, he walked by her, and she stuck her racquet out and tapped him on the back to get him to notice her. "My god, she was flirting!" Didn't know she knew how! It was so cute. Love at the age of 9.

I would talk to him. Boys at 10 or so are very silly when they get a crush on a girl. My DS13 would make a big fool over girls. Now they are making fools over him. LOL. DD is 10 and just got her first "real" valentine. Not one that you get to give the class, a large pink bear holding a heart. The boy made his dad drive to the store the day before valentines day to buy it, then had a mutual friend deliver it to her. she was so happy, she said this was better than being hit over the head by his text book.LOL.

Oh mama That´s so sweet I would talk with him, atleast of the proper ways of showing his feeling´s. Kid´s can be qruell when they find out, so it´s better not to act to foolish before that happend´s ;D You might also remember him that girl´s like a little different way´s than boy´s, some rough action may not get the positiv feedback after all ;D Ooh, I´am glad my son is not there yet ;D Mayby I can learn of your experience Marja

Oh this made me smile ... Love starts so early eh?? I would talk to him but in a VERY casual conversation .... pointing out how girls like boys who treat them like "human beings" or "good friends" and don't show off in front of them. I had a similar conversation recently with my 15 year old who actually has a lot of female friends who often seek out his company .... I asked him why he thought this might be and he said he thinks it is because he treats them completely normally .... He said: "you wouldn't believe the amount of boys who change completely in front of girls ... they get all silly and really show off and girls don't like that!" .... That is the advice from my 15 year old to your 10 year old !! ;D

awwwwwwwwww, and STOP SCARING MEEEEEEEE ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Tara is 9, she's already been in my ear about liking boys. It's really to cute.
One of the boys at our program, who is in Tara's grade, has basically grown up with her. They are now in a drawing "club". They fight like brother and sister, but stand up for each other ALL THE TIME. It is cute Kaiti

That is really cute!!!
Honey told me he had a girlfriend too, then I joked with the teacher about it and she said "Oh, she is everyone's girlfriend!"
It is clear I am going to have a get a big lock on the door since my kids can't be in love until I say so!! ;D

Tara knows she's not allowed to have a boyfriend until she is 26 ;D
And Mikey, if someone could put up with him or last longer than a conversation, he might have one in this lifetime ;D ;D ;D ;D
