We have now been at my Dad's house since sunday, and the kids have settled right in. (have got to keep Amber off the phone so much though) Report cards came out tuesday, and Dan failed english. I knew he would have a hard time with it this year. Starting highschool work is always hard. His other grades are good though, and his math grade is excellent. He is taking ag this year and so far is enjoying it. He is out of football untill progress reports (if he is passing then), but that does not bother him, he is looking forward to the break. He seems to have grown up even more since school started, and it has only been 6 weeks!
Amber got all A's on her report card, and loves cheerleading (though she fell at the last half-time routine) She placed 6th in the cross country meet yesterday, and has the lead in one act play "say goodbye to the clown". She plays Peggy, and 9 year old who is not ready to realize her Father is dead, and has an imaginary friend who is a clown. She has a lot of lines to learn, but I can see why she got the part. Peggy and Amber are the same person. Amber just has to be herself and she fits the part perfect.
Andy is feeling better, but it has been too hot the last few days for him to go for his walks he needs to do. Now that the weather has cooled off some, I am hoping to get him back to his excercize. Dads dog tried to get out the door last night, and Andy caught him, so he had a very sore night. He was still in pain this morning, but would not take a pain pill. (why is it men make such terrible patients?)
So things are going about as well as we can expect. I did get food stamps, so I can help Dad with the food at least, but did not get anything else. So much for paying taxes, they dont help us out any do they? (I know school, roads, etc, I just feel like I pay for everyone else right now) And the kids did get free school lunch, so I dont have to worry about them not having lunch money. All my utilities are now shut off, so when I go to the house to feed the dogs and cats, I have to haul water with me and carry a flash light. I am sure getting my excercise.
