Just venting over a frustrating day.
Today was supposed to be DS's speech/language evaluation. I picked him up about 10 minutes early from school and went over to the hospital. As I pull into my parking space, I remember the order for tests from DS's doc that I was supposed to bring (they told me the tests could not be done without it). Of course I did not have it with me. Then we set out to find the speech/OT dept. We got totally lost. Finally someone walked us through the hospital to the correct place. Since we were 20 minutes late and since I didn't have the order for tests, we had to reschedule. It was hard talking to the woman behind the window because the waiting room was so noisy I couldn't hear her. DS has trouble understanding and following directions, and I'm sure these people were thinking, "Yeah, lady, it's easy to see where he gets it from!!" Anyway, I then had to try to find my way through the hospital again to the parking garage (I had parked at the wrong parking garage). So I feel like I wasted 1 1/2 hours (except I did get some exercise doing all that walking and I do know my way around there and know where to go the next time).
Then there's DD. I really need to check her over more carefully before she goes to school. She has a little cough so I put one of those patches on her chest at night. She hates it so much that I was sure she would take it off this morning. Nope she's still wearing it. Also, she still wets her bed at night so I have resorted to having her wear training pants with plastic pants over them. She woke up during the night last night totally drenched. DH helped her change; then I guess she was fine after that because this morning when she was getting out of the van at school (I had to make her change her shoes first; they were on the wrong feet) I noticed that she still had the plastic pants on. I figured no one would notice. A few hours later, I get a call from the school nurse, saying that DD had fallen in the bathroom and hurt her butt. So I figure the nurse and/or the teacher did see the plastic pants. (She is fine, and no one mentioned the pants.)
Well, that's my day. Sometimes I feel like the stupidest mother there is! ;D
PS If anyone has any ideas on the nighttime training, I'll be glad to take advice. I'm tired of changing sheets every night and am about ready to go back to putting Pull Ups on her.
