the road We have had one thunderstorm after another tonight Paul was driving home from work in one of the storms and another car was coming right over in his lane!! He layed on the horn and flashed his lights but the car kept coming at him forcing him off the road. The other driver finally saw him and stopped and said....SORRY MAN!!! Paul was livid and started yelling at him saying you better go back to drivers ed!! and I can't say what else he said I didn't say a whole lot because he was upset but I will tomorrow. I am always afraid some idiot might have a weapon in his vehicle, and there would have been a tragedy!!

Thank God that Paul is OKAY as well as the other driver...storms can be terrifying to drive in let alone being run off the road...poor Paul! Sometimes yelling is a way of coping with the stress but you are right the other guy could've been armed and under these stressful situations it could've got ugly. Paul seems to be level headed tho.. and if it was his first mishap in a car..he may never react the same way if it ever happens again. Alot of people seem to think when it is raining cats and dogs the best place to be is the middle of the road.. they always taught us if you cant see..pull over. He didnt have to be rescued or towed did he? I know if you get run off the road where I live that means ditch and tow truck. Kait is right tho...always assume other people are armed and try not to tell them how unintelligent they are in a loud way ...I am glad that Paul is okay..

He did not have to be towed...he ended up in someones yard!!! It was a slashing rain storm and it scared me he was out in it. He has been in rainstorms before but not of this magnitude....and he does pull over. He did think the driver was drunk!!

Very glad Paul is OK. I hate driving in storms. Here in the Dallas area we have highways with ramps that end up several stories off the ground. I'm always afraid that I'll take a flying leap off a ramp 4 stories up.
I had a guy start screaming at me at a 7/11 one morning. He wasn't even there when I pulled in but he decided that I had scratched his big white Macho truck. He caused such a scene that other people were looking at him. I was very nice to him and he finally stopped yelling. As I drove off. This guy on the sidewalk made the "crazy sign"around the side of his head. You never know who you will run into. That is why I tried to stay calm.

Oh Linda ... Thank goodness Paul was ok ... !! Oh dear this thread is ill timed for me because Sam takes his "practical" (and "final") driving test on Monday !! .. and I am scared stiff that he will PASS !! ;D ;D No !! You know I don't really mean that ... BUT ... BUT ... Back to Paul though ... oh how scary and ANNOYING is that!! "Other drivers" can be so petrifying and extremely dangerous ... Being on the doorstep of both Dover and the Channel Tunnel we have a huge amount of European truck drivers heading either to or from Europe in the area (and in Europe they drive on the OPPOSITE side of the road to us!)... Earlier this year a lovely local man who worked at our local petrol station was killed by a German truck coming in the other direction who was DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!! ... This is something which really, really scares me with those trucks coming straight out onto our roads from Europe and having to suddenly drive on the opposite side of the road!! I know how difficult it is myself when I do it the opposite way around!! THANK GOODNESS YOU ARE SAFE PAUL!!

Anne...tell Sam for me Good Luck on his test Each phase of our kids lifes are in itself scary sometimes. I know exactly what you mean though....you don't want him driving on one hand and then on the other hand you know it is part of his growing up!

Linda, I hope you have stopped shaking, glad I was here to answer you. BTW when I was dating Mike, I was driving through Carney's Point,, where he lived. The light about 3 blocks up was red, so I slowed down.....apparently the guy behind me wasn't paying attention. He hit my car which was a 1979 Mercury........oh crap, the same as the Granada, but the other version. Anyhow, his left front quarter panel was totaled when I looked in the mirror :oI thought my back end was going to be too. Well, thanks to the old days of using metal.....I had a little bit of dirt knocked off my bumper.....NO OTHER DAMAGE. He jumped out of his car, some ladies were yelling asking me if I wanted them to call teh police......he yells, not yet, we'll get it taken care of. He said he would get his car fixed, no big deal, was I OK, yes I was......OK take care Um, so he drove away with me standing there like WHAT IS GOING ON then when I finally got going a policeman was watching the whole thing, so I waved at him as I drove by ;D
