Thanks for all the well wishes! It was an interesting day... to say the least.
I had to go sign papers at the bank... in the city. 1/2 hr drive both ways. Patrick and Shaun got into a fight while I was gone. I got a call that "we got the blood stopped, and it should be just fine, but..."
So, I am on the highway, hearing this on my speaker~phone, thinking... what should I do? My phone disconnected, battery crapped out. So, I reached down and plugged it in. I called them back on speaker, and after 30 seconds, I disconnect again.
Plan B, called DH at work, told him to check the problem please... knowing that there will be he** to pay later if DAD knows there was a physical fight!
Hang up, and not 15 seconds later, traffic comes to a screeching halt! Big accident 1/2 mile ahead. Just as I come to a stop, my low gas alarm goes off! GRRRRR!
DH called back to say all is fine at home, not to worry. Fire trucks, ambulance, state police... cleared the accident sight, apparently NO injuries after all that, thank GOD!
The wound was caused by poking a stick
and is the size of a quarter! Nasty bruise to go with it!
So, we grab lunch and head to the store to buy a new dishwasher (mine burned up finally! It has been smoking for 7 months, but ONLY when I am home alone... never when I have witnesses! This time they were ALL home and confirmed it, so I got a new machine for my birthday!!!) Bought it on clearance without consulting DH. In the end, he was relieved that he didn't have to go sift through a whole bunch!
We went out to dinner, and nobody was very hungry. After dinner, I convinced DH to take us to WalMart across town, since the local one is AWFUL, and the other one has a gas station across from it where gas is $2.83 VERY GOOD DEAL for around here. We pull into WalMart, to get Patrick his gift. He was with us... but we couldn't shop, since they had a Bomb Squad Truck :oblocking off the entire parking lot, along with 20 or so other emergency vehicles, and people behind a police ribbon!
So, NO present for Patrick
... we told him that if we go over today and the store was blowed up, he could get a discount on his gift, but there would be some assembly required! ;D ;D ;D
Then we got home and Michael started a screaming fight with Patrick
and they all ended up sent to their rooms.
WHAT A DAY!
So, we are packing up now, and going for a PICNIC
to try to have a happier day! This is a school picnic, so we get away without having to do do too much school work!
ANYWAY, Patrick's high point of the day was the realization that at 13, he is actually OLD enough to now join our website!
So if you see him appear soon, welcome him aboard! '
Thanks for the well wishes! And if he gets a gift finally, we will let you know all about it! Shaun is still waiting for his too! He knows what we want to get him, just haven't found it yet!
