OMG Linda !! ... Firstly that is SOOOO sweet of Paul .. I was nearly in tears reading that he was going out and buying himself a lunch having overheard that conversation!! ... That speaks VOLUMES about both Paul himself ANDDDD his upbringing with you and your dh!! ... Secondly was the "maturity" you have noticed -vs- those earlier years when things were so much tougher!! ... and I was saying "YES YES YES" !! ... I could relate so much to what you were saying here ... Just like you I could never in a million YEARS have imagined that by age 17 I would be soooooo proud of my son !! ... (Oh sure there is room for improvement in some areas! but WHAT A LONG way they have come!!) ... Right now cast aside your guilt ... because it isn't necessary!! .. Paul (bless him!) has taken this "on board" and has reacted to it .... You have a GREAT GUY there .... ENJOY IT !!

Anne....there is always room for improvement for anyone I sure don't EVER want to go back to the earlier years but like you Anne if I can help ONE person with ADHD I will do it.

Oh WELL SAID Linda!! ... I can so well remember the sheer FEAR of the phone ringing back in THOSE days and hearing those immortal words "This is the Head of Year from P*** V***** High School ... Sam has .............." !! and my heart would drop down to my shoes !!

you've done a great job with paul! such maturity already! my son is better at that. he learned right away once he started paying for gas and then when he saw his paycheck stub with all the taxes taken out!! brittany has finally been saving more money lately so maybe she's finally learning too. oops, i hate to even have those thoughts because as soon as i do, something else goes wrong! train of thought? hmmmmm, i'm sure i've had them too! karen

One of Paul's former 9th teachers (also a neighbor) wants him to give a presentation to her class about work ethics. She wants him to take a few students to a job site....show them how it is done and actually have them work for him for NO PAY!!!
Right now he has a painting job and he is not sure if he wants a couple of "rookies" painting, but he is excited!!!
He has no problems getting in front of people and talking. ME? I have had to do it before and it petrifies me!!!

No I don't feel so bad....sometimes I think he does way to much! He is home now and he is exhausted from working. He does find time for his friends.......some of which do not or will not work...I don't get that!!!
