Sounds like we all shop alike . My kids get brand names only when I can find them on sale. This year we found lots of shirts and jean shorts and some jeans on sale at JC Penneys (sidewalk sales 75% off and on sat we got buy 2 get the 3rd 1/2 off the 75% sale) needless to say we got good deals. We also love Steve and Barrys~~they have the best hoodie sweatshirts and they are good quality clothes. The boys talked me into going into TJ Max and boy did I find lots of bargins in there as well. I do spend money on the shoes though because it is the one thing that will last them all year long~~last year I bought they boys Vans and they still are in great shape a little wore on the bottom but that is it~~no holes by the toes or rips in them~~I am very impressed with them, luckily that is the same brand Levi wanted this year. They also double as a dress shoe because they are made of leather. Riley got a different brand~~not sure what brand it is but he is happy with them. Levi wants me to go get him some more shirts from Penneys but I told him he has to wait until a sale. I only let him get a few shirts because his closet is full and he didn't want to part with any old shirts so now I think he is ready to do some parting ;D ;D I got him to get some nice shirts and to steer away from the t shirts he loves to wear. As we say now he is styling hahahaha

my kids both love hot topic too! i guess i don't think of that stuff as name brand as i do hillfiger, oshkosh, ralph lauren, etc. store specific stuff is just that and try to find stuff on sale or they might get one instead of 3. the kids dont' like their pants, thank goodness! mostly just their t shirts and accessories. brittany buys more and more of her own stuff for work! she also hasn't grown in several years so she's still wearing things bought a few years ago. and chris isn't too interested in anything except jeans and t shirts. i used to buy disney stuff all the time too! brittany still loves it but chris outgrew it many years ago. our disney stores usually have decent prices on t shirts at times. i miss those days sometimes! karen

Hilfiger is the biggie with Paul. I buy my Disney things on sale too and get some pretty good buys.

I make a beeline for the clearance racks. I might have brand-name clothes, but I have 2 pairs of shorts and a pair of jeans when my friend has 1 pair of jeans - all in the same brand. The only reason I ever look for specific brands is if I know they fit will. Jeans are the main thing. I love Old Navy ($28, if you can catch them on sale) and CK (which I've managed to find for $10 before).

Oh yeah, we get name brand here ???if it came in a bag of hand-me downs. We have a sorta circle of people we switch around and give bags to each other. One mom starts it, gives it to me for Tara, then I sort it and pass it on. They sort and pass. We put in anything worth it for the next one. Works pretty good especially since all of the girls are just under one another, but all thin and long legged. Other than that Mom adn Mike's mom tookteh kids shopping to JC Penney's and a few other stores.

:)Rose isn't that brand concious yet. She does like certain styles but Target will do just fine by her. Camo pants are big here and target had 3 colors. We bought 2."The Childrens Place" has good clothes especially when they have sales. I was talking to a high school girl and all over sequined purses are big here. I haven't discovered where they get them but I might ask the next one I see. We didn't move to Plano because I didn't want to have to buy $100 shoes and fight a drug problem (all my friends where I used to live told me I needed to move to Plano)

Those all over sequined bags are big here too. I asked a girl who had one where she got hers, and she said in the mall. So I guess when I get a few extra dollars I will be stopping by the mall to pick one up for amber. I dont blame you for not wanting to live in Plano. I would not want to compete with all that either. I like my little town where the name brands dont matter too much because not many can afford them anyway.

I personally shop at the goodwill/thrift stores here. Within 20 miles of me there are at least 10 thrift stores...If I run across something from the clearance rack, I'll grab it too, but the thrift stores are my favs!

I'm abotu half terrified to. ;DThen again, my SIL has started to clean out her things and Tara is almost as tall as her, so we are getting some pretty good names here lately. But after another year, Tara's going to be taller then her, so we will be sol after that ;D

Well the GOOD thing about teenagers is that they get to the point where they BUY THEIR OWN stuff (or at least SOME of it!) .. Sam recently bought himself two t-shirts from the US via ebay ... they arrived within 7 days - they were "just what he wanted and can't get here in the UK" and they came out WITH shipping at $16 each !! ... OMG I call that SOOOOO CHEAP !! We cannot buy a t-shirt here for that price ANYWHERE let alone "Just the ones he wants" !! So it was once again to ebay and the US !!
