I live in Stoughton, WI and our neighborhood was hit by several tornados late Thursday afternoon. We are fine and actually have little damage. Our neigbors were not so lucky as many have lost everything. One neighbor was killed. Please pray for his wife Peg and children Al and Joyce. All our other neihbors and friends are accounted for. This afternoon we were finally let back into our homes and got electricity back tonite! We are living in a war zone that is unbelieveable... The kindness of our fellow Stoughtonites is amazing. They are supplying us with water and food and places to stay. Sorry if this is a little incoherant as I have had about 3 hours of sleep since 7 AM Thursday. Please keep all of us in your prayers. God bless, Sue

for the family and friends of your neighborhood. We know that you are a strong lady and a strong family, you will be better eventually, but for now it is a difficult thing to get over. My DH lost his very best life long buddy (besides me) in a tornado in 1979. For the longest time, he had nightmares and teary moments. But we have taken our place in his friends family... they have sort of adopted our boys as their grandkids. That is what "community" is all about. Together, your entire town will work this through. God has been watching out for you for many years, and he led each of you to a safe place in the storms this week, he will lead you through the after math as well. You are all in our thoughts, and our prayers. Let us know when you can, how you all are doing! We love you, and we care!

Take care..please make sure your area has some form of counseling for everyone. When our town was hit even the kids who were not in the line of the direct hit were emotionally upset here. The longer the clean up the more it affected them. Everyone kind of assumes when these storms are over that everything is okay but clean up can take as long asup to two years . My kids were more affected by the clean up than the actual storm. (It was seeing what could of been them that got to them.) Good luck and take care...I know how you are feeling..get some rest too. We are praying for you and your neighbors.

Sue, I am at such a loss for waht to say. I send you and your community hugs and comfort and prayer. How awful it must be to have experienced this and be experiencing it still. I have never lived through a tornado but have often thought of how quickly they come and go...but what they leave behind stays with you forever. I will definitely keep all of you in my prayers.
I thin Trid summed it up best....God lead your family to a safe place during the storm and if you let him he will lead you through the aftermath as well.
Take care.

www.madison.com/wsj/home/local/index.php?ntid=51412&ntpid=1Well we are still here! I have climbed under stably unstable structures, I have hauled brush, belongings, picked through debries, walked fields, fed volunteers, carted water until my back and legs ache. Everyone is working even the kids! There is a wonderful grace and coming together in all this destruction and loss. Everyone is so upbeat, even Peg who lost more than everything when she lost her dh, Harold. The communication is BAD though. If you leave here you never know when you may get back and you never know if you will be evacuated again. That is the frustrating part but the bussloads and carloads of volunteers is wonderful! Now we are "open" again to the public so the reporters and sightseers can get in and of course we have looters... Some people are just not human. Yest at a meeting for homeowners, I lost my cool and made the news! I put the URL above. They left out all the juicy details on how another victum of this called me a bad mom. Actually his words were, "What kind of mother are you to leave your young kids at home alone?" I have no idea where this guy was from, have never seen him before and I was really hurt that anyone would make such a hurtful remark to another victom. I am not a bad mom and I left my kids in the care of their 13 year old brother. Idiot, prime example of making an ass out of himself but it still bothers me.... I think I had the hat and broom but will from now on shut my mouth so you guys can have it back. Thanks for the use! I thank you all for your thoughts and prayer and I can see God here with us every moment! The kids are having a wonderful time helping with the clean up and eating at the park food station. Many of their friends are coming in to help so that makes the work more fun for them. They sleep good at night once we actually get them settled! They are all hyper and excited 24/7 so Jake has lots of company just like him these days! ;D Just thought I would update you all, Sue
