Hi We´ve had our share of heavy raining and thunderstorm´s here in southern Finland from last night through all this day and it´s still going on. The track and field world championship´s take´s place in Helsinki this week, last night they had to hold on for 2 hour´s because it was raining and lightning´s all over the place. We had over 33 ml of water/hour coming down... this is 10 time´s more than usual rain I have had only the side burn´s of this, so no worries, but the Capital city has been right in the midle of it. Today copter of the commercial copterline´s Helsinki-Tallin had a crash in the Baltic sea, all 14 on board are most likely dead(8 finn´s, 4 estonian´s and 2 U.S citisen´s) It´s raining as I type.... ugh I hope this goes away soon!!!

oh..Marja! I was going to pick on you and say it's good at least this isn't happening in winter or y'all would be snowed under!...but the news of the trash and presumed dead is terrible! Please keep us updated on that. I will be praying that they are ok. It always amazes me how dangerous the weather can be. Snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes... all forces of nature that can do so much harm. I hope the rain ends soon! "Rain, rain, go away! Come again another day!"

Well, they said in the new´s that all those 14 (two pilot´s 12 passanger´s) on board are dead, the wreckage is lying on the see, in about 45 metres, rescuer´s havent got change to get to the wreckage yet due the bad weather, they havent found anyone alive, so..... Christy, you´re right; fortunately it´s not winter,it would be afful, cold, snow etc........ but.... it´s still a big mess Cut off powerline´s debrees, trees fallen down.... It´s not hurricane, but bad enough in my point of few

Severe thunderstorms can cause as much damage as hurricanes... not as severe mind you (though this crash is definitely severe)...but they can definitely wreak havoc.
My heart breaks for the families of those lost and for your beloved country as well.
I truly hope the weather brightens up very soon!
