At 12:00 am tonight we start "Midnight Madness". In other words the offical first day of football practice for high school. We are planning on staying the 2 hours to watch as it will be at the field under the lights. It is suppose to be a nice/warm night so I can't wait. Levi is the "waterboy" for both JV/Varsity teams (Riley is on the JV team). Levi proably won't play rocketfootball this year and that is ok with me.....he will still be involved by being manager for JV/Varsity but since we are going to do a med change and not knowing how it will turn out he wants to take a break this season.......he says he will play JV next year for sure.

Oh Linda don't say that . It always amazes me that at the beginning of the season we are sweating and wearing shorts and tank tops to the games and by the end we are wearing winter coats, hats, gloves, scarfs, and tons of blankets Should I say it-------that will be in about 12 weeks

OMG I am so tired this morning~~~~but I am sitting here with my cappuccino and watching our team on the morning news . Well maybe I shouldn't get to excited about watching us~~it was only a little blip ;D ;D oh well I am sure there will be more on later. The news crew was there all night filming. Levi is excited because he was right in the middle of the field "observing" ;D and he is so sure he will be on the news.

Well our boys started two-a-days last week. School starts the 17th and varsity has their first scrimmage on the 19th. Dan is on JV. We have a freshman team this year, but they moved 7 freshmen to JV and 2 fresh to Varsity. Amber is having cheer practice 2 times a week, and they go to competition on Saturday. (wish us luck) This is the first time any junior high squad has done a comp. So even though we have not started school yet, the kids are already up and at the school at 7:00 am. First to run cross country, then to other practices.

Hello Sportsmom, our Varsity was on the news thursday, yesterday another news channel was at practice, and they were filming some of the JV, but did not show anything last night, so we will watch tonight. Dan was glad to be moved up to JV instead of the freshman team, but does not want to play varsity yet. Yesterday he found out he made backup quarterback, and is the halfback for the team. He was so happy. Amber is also on a competitive team out of the next town, nothing to do with school, so she will have a comp each month sept - feb. Her first pep rally and game for junior high is sept 9. She just loves cheerleading. Has been training for this year since she was 7. She also moves up to toe shoes in ballet this year for the first time, so this is a big year for her in a lot of things. They are both glad to be in seperate schools this year. Amber says she is tired of being " Dans little sister" all the time. LOL. Dan is a little nervous about this year, but is looking forward to it. He is doing very well at 2 a days, and the coaches seem to be pleased with him.

WOW backup quaterback is GREAT !!! Our backup QB gets just as much time on the field as 1st string~~good job for Dan!! Riley has bruises under his arms and a big mark on his back from someone stepping on him with their cleats on.....I polietly told the coach that I thought this was conditioning week~~no roughness. I hope they are a little more careful~~at least until they get their pads then they can be as rough as they want. When they showed our team on the tv Riley was on quite a bit (for what little bit they showed haha). It just makes the team feel better knowing they are on the news doesn't it? I hope your kids have a good/fun time in sports this year BTW Riley is on JV this year.

So far they are having a great time. Amber is the main flyer and one of the main tumblers for both cheer squads, so she has to put in a lot of hard work. Dan was practicing the QB position yesterday. He was so nervous that no one could hear him LOL. We started in pads last friday, and today is our last 2 a day. So far Dan has made it with no major brusies or sprains. I hope he makes it thru the season so well.
