We got 1.7 inches of rain last night around 6:30p.m. I am so thankful for the rain and we need more. I have put so much time and effort into my newly redesigned back yard that I was praying hard for rain. ;D ;D Be carefull how you pray!! We also got the big P*ss elm in our back yard brought down by two seconds worth of wind shear! It landed on a couple of my new flower beds, wiped out the back fence (tried to kill my 18yr old honeysuckle but couldn't ), hit the fence of the neighbors behind and beside us, and the back side of the church yard was covered with debri. We lost our power and just got it back around noon. Our tree caused three electric poles to snap and a four block by four block area was out. People were out there taking pictures so they can try to sue us for their freezer food losses.. I just kinda got done with the clean up..we had been out there from daylight on working to clear everyones yards and hauling it all off to the dump. Now I have to shower and get busy cleaning the inside of the house as tomorro I am adopting three C*o*c*k*t*i*e*l*s (the filter got me)..a breeding pair and a baby and my house has to pass inspection. (they dont mind the 5 cats , 2 dogs, parrot, parakeets, and snake...but the house has to be spotless.....go figure!) ;D ;D Well gotta go now! Bobo lasted two minutes after we came in ..he is sawing the other kind of logs on the couch now...very loudly... ;D ;D ;D ;D

;D ;D M/C I love this post ... it was sooo funny!! ;D and hey if YOU are pleased you have got rain then I am pleased with you!!! ;D But coming from a country which is infamous for its rain I can't get toooooo excited!! ;D ;D ;D We had it NON STOP this morning and we all said "Typical British Summer weather!" BUT it cleared at lunchtime and we DID have a bright and sunny afternoon!! As for the C*ockatiels (watching that filter!) ... that is too funny that your house has to be spotless but never mind the dogs, cats and whatever else ... ;D ;D and as for Bobo ... Sleep Bobo Sleep whilst you can ... c"ockatiels are not known to sleep soundly through the night now are they?? ;D ;D

I was hoping you would say that you got 1.7 inches of SNOW! My pool water is 92* this afternoon. The wind really picked up about 1/2 hr ago, and the air temp is down to 89* so it was hard getting out of the pool... I was shivering!

I am not desperate enough to wish for snow yet ;D never will be until Christmas eve and then for only 24 hours.. Bobo worked soo hard clearing and cutting trees..a herd of buffalo couldn't wake him...let alone birds. We sure had a mess to remove...he and the guy behind us both had to lay off work to clear stuff away. Our parrot needs from 10-12 hours a night sleep in order to be a polite non cranky parrot. These c*ockatiels are well behaved so I hear and can speak and do some tricks..I just hope they are good tricks and not dirty little annoying ones. Anne ..it was funny.... just yesterday I was thinking of taking pictures of my yard to share...I should've done it as now it looks horrible ....I have loads of shade loving plants back there ...and no more shade. I guess next year I really need to go buy some different plants ;D ;D (and maybe a tree) (Bobo and the neighbor guy want to carve the 10 ft tall stump into the shape of a male anatomy part and put the mayors name on it since he wouldn't let them burn the debri and made them haul it all off) of course I said not in my yard... ;D

My neighbor 2 yards down had a tree that fell into neighbors yard and did some damage. Neighbor 2 yards down apparently wasnt responsible for any damage (according to insurance) other than what happened in his yard. I dont think your neighbors can go after you for food that went bad due to your tree.

Of course you would not want that in your yard!! The appropriate place for it to be would be in front of City Hall in place of where the 10 Commandments used to be. Saying that VERY SARCASTICALLY. I don't think the courts would have a problem with that. ;D ;D Miles

We still need around 6 inches atleast...but without the wind thank you. Our tree made the local paper...didnt say much just a picture. I wander if I had let Bobo and the neighbor guy do what they wanted if it woulda said more ... ;D Miles ..our one corrupted horse village has never had the ten commandments posted ..let alone followed them. They take turns playing the village idiot. ( and they do a great job ) The electric company was just back...seems there is a short ...the cabel guy found it in the ground on the electric pole... ;D I liked the cabel guys...when they were up the road we could barely hear their music...so I had the kids go ask them to turn it up louder and they did. Played some good tunes. ;D The village inspector came around but I cussed him and chased him off...last week he abated a friend of mine for her roof and was very vile and rude to her. When they refused to let us burn he came to watch and make sure like we needed a sitter. Then he complained about how much they hauled to the dump as if we were getting it somewhere else. The village board meeting is monday and I will be there. We found a squirrel nest with 2 babys in it...they looked like little rats and their eyes weren't open..After the neighbor touched them I figured the momma wouldn't come back..but we laid the nest aside and soon enough here she came...hauled them off like a momma cat and kittens. There is always a little magic to cheer up a bad day. We also got to visit with the neighbors....but next time we want to have a block party instead of a work party.
