My mom turned 58 today

After a pretty rough year that we didn't think she'd make it through, mom reached another birthday. She is now the same age my great-grandmother was when she died of a heart attack. Mom has everything that Big Mama had and then some. Here's to hoping mom makes it to 59!

She recently kicked out her husband and we will be moving her in with my sister next weekend where she will stay until an apartment she's on the wait list for comes avavilable. I hope she doesn't regret it.

Thanks to all of you.... esp. you Lise during this difficult time.

We took her out to dinner Saturday night and had a really nice time. I intentinally planned it that way so it could be just us without my grandparents or sister. We talked way into the evening and had a nice time I spoke with her last evening and although she had had a rough day at dialysis, she was in good spirits. She is looking forward to getting out on her own, but it may be several months before her apartment comes available.

My mom made it to another BD as well and her spine is crumbling away on her. She lives alone, cause my ding dong step dad moved up here near me (oh joyous). But mom comes up here a lot, and in fact I am meeting her in Whitehorse BC in 2 days to get my DD from Bible Camp. She now uses a electric 4 wheeled scooter and a wheeled walker I bought her 2 years ago. The living alone thing scares me, but she likes it.

THE BEST thing I ever did was kick out the EX.. MY life is so much better without him, I am betting hers will too.
