Hi, It stands for Processing and Cognitive Enhancement and sounds rather amazing from the brochure. It is one on one instruction. It's been around since the 80's and I have recently learned of a kid who benefited from it a lot. My kid is no good on any meds we have tried and is a slow processor of information that is spoken and has major prob. with attention. It's supposed to improve concentration, make homework faster, help with memory of directions and other things. Is it worth looking into?

Hi lisle!! I haven't (personally) heard of this .... but I would say that as long as your child will "buy into it" and cooperate then it has to be worth a try!! This is the sort of thing that my son would just not ever have "bought into" ... he would have criticised it and felt he was "wasting his time" from an early age ... but that is the way HE always has been (!) ... but if your child is cooperative and willing to spend the time doing this then I would say GIVE IT A GO ... and also KEEP US POSTED!!!
GOOD LUCK!! Anne

Anne: I know what you mean because my son is just like yours. Nothing we do to help him does anything more than make him angry and resistant. Yet I feel it's wrong to just give up. It's true that he was more cooperative before so many medicines didn't help and actually harmed him. Now he has alienated every tutor or other person who has attempted to help him. He only goes to therapy because we pay him a lot for it. Oh, and the truth is I don't see any benefit whatsoever. What do you do? I thought this might show results and he would do it? But how do you teach someone to concentrate when concentration causes headaches? I want to hear more parents' response to this before trying it as it is expensive, I imagine, and far away from me. Thanks for your answer. Anyone try it?

This program had sounded interesting to me also, but like you I'm afraid it would be a lot of money when we don't know if it would work. Just the introductory video and tests are $40 (but refundable if you don't enroll and don't use the tests). If I remember right, the program would also take an hour a day for a while. Have you seen their web site at www.learninginfo.com ? That's the only place I've ever heard about the program. I had posted your same question on the old ADHD.com site, but received no response.
