We wont know for a month or so if the surgery worked to help sd, unforunately the damage was worse then the dr thought once he got in there... Her ear drum was nearly gone ... Oh I so hope we didnt put sd through all this for nothing... We go back mid July, but I am not sure they can do any testing at that point... I think that is more of a removing packing type appt, the testing probably wont be till after the ear has healed more... I am on pins and needles here~ Obviously we wont do the other ear unless we know this surgery helped this ear... Just BUMMED! cat

Well lets put it this way, the dr didnt want her to have her ADHD medications the day of the surgery (due to anesthesia of course), but it was QUITE clear before sd went to sleep that night, that the medication would be needed the next day!! She was back to herself by dinner time, the SAME day as the surgery... Up bothering the nurses, talking toooooooo much, I didnt sleep at ALL in her room with her... Trying to keep her calm as doctor ordered is ALOT more work then I bet he thought it would be.... ;D

Cats ... I am sorry to hear this news ... One note about anaesthetics ... when Sam had one he was LITERALLY bouncing off the walls as it wore off later in the day (and remember here that Sam is not even hyper normally!)... apparently this reaction to an anaesthetic is not completely unusual ... it DOES affect some people like that and it sure did him and it sounds like it sure did sd as well!!
