Would you believe this?
Monday I took my van into the dealership to get recall work done, a new inspection sticker, and have them check on the awful noise the transmission has been making.
We took Patrick to Washington DC yesterday for a week at a national conference. DH took the day off from work and we went in his truck. We took Patrick in, settled him in a room with his two roommates. One from Columbus OH and the other from Austin TX. The boys seemed to hit it off fairly well. One of the other boys just got his black belt in May, so they have that in common.
We went to lunch, and then Patrick got up, said, "well, see ya Sunday." And he walked away without a hug
We used the restrooms and then headed out to get into our truck, and the Arlington Police was blocking the truck in. The cop (he was CUTE!) said he was sorry he had to delay our trip, but we had to wait for his supervisor. He was pulling into the parking lot and something fell ff his dash board. He was startled, and temporarily distracted, and he swerved into our parked truck!
At least I was wearing my old paramedic shirt, and I think that was somewhat a relief for him. Especially when I admitted to hitting a parked car with a loaded ambulance once.
We had to wait about 1/2 hour for the "boss man" as Sgt. Cutie called him. We all took pictures, he got our info. and said he would call with a claim # so we could get the damage repaired.
Then, on the way home, first the dealership called. My van was ready, except for the part they had to order. And then the "boss man" called and gave me the info.
I can't believe it. Of all the cars in Washington DC, the cop had to run into ours.
I went to pick up my van, and the girl asked how was my trip to DC... besides getting my truck hit by a cop car?
What a day. And just think, I get to go back to DC to pick him up next week! I can't wait (note of sarcasm).
