It is great to hear that the experience has gone so well for you. As was stated already, don't become complacent. Each year you will deal with new teachers and new administrators. Don't relax your stance.
And remember, once the IEP is signed, it can still be reopened ANYTIME by the parent. It is not a once-and-done document. If something isn't working, request a change. Some modifications CAN be done informally, but having it in writing will put more teeth into it for next year.
When you are setting up your goals, don't forget your medium range and longe range goals. A wise person once told me that the days drag by, but the years fly. Make sure you clearly plan for the future in education, because it will be here before we know it!
Now, would you be willing to come help me with 3 IEP's? One was tough, I can't quite grasp what it will be like to deal with the next two!
