Hi, I don't know what that is either but my child is going through a evaluation type testing at school. She's just struggling with memorization at school! It's so hard and we pour over books just for her to receive a C grade and that's GOOD!!!! on our scale and so many times it's much worse. I would hate to see her fail 2nd grade but I had to do something. Her reading has gotten a touch better but she's just not learning at the same pace as the other kids. She needs to be able to take her papers to another teacher for more one on one so she won't bring home so many poor grades. I'm not forsure how it will all work out after it's all said and done?? I asked for the evaluation back the 12th of sept. and here's it's the 2nd week in Nov. and my FIRST appointment with the school isn't until the first week of Dec! Then she'll have to do MORE testing and I'll be LUCKY if anything is in place before Feb! It's terrible. Well, didn't mean to go on and on...I'll keep reading this post and maybe I'll learn something too....take care......

My son was diagnosed with add in March and has been on Strattera since May. He has had a great deal of improvment but not much with reading and writing. They did an evaluration at school and they said that he doesnt need special ed. They are the ones that suggested that it might be auditory memory problem. I did read a little on it. I will post later some websites that I find. I will also keep everyone updated.

Auditory memory testing involves seeing how long a sequence of words or numbers a child can repeat when the testor says them first. I think they also have the child try and go backwards through the list too. I watched this test once. It's not easy. Especially the backwards part.
Makes you realize why our kids have such a time with complex instructions or being told to do two or three things at once instead of letting them complete each task before getting the next instruction.

Amen Sierra, I know it's hard for me to remember several tasks on a paper that I've seen only ONCE! Just think if a person goes into a office building and given papers to fill out with several oral instructions. Heck it's hard to fill out papers with written instructions. Takes more one on one with someone that knows the material! Look at doing taxes and how many go and have that done becasue they DON'T understand the BOOK!

I keep trying to convince Mom to write down lists of stuff she wants me to do, but she keeps refusing and gets mad if I ask her several times or don't get everything done.
