Here's hoping guys! My husband and I met with the assistant principal and the councelor this morning before Cody was allowed to return to classes. They met us with all of the forms to sign for testing and special ed placement. They also asked us what they need to do to control Cody's explosions. From suspension and "behavioral problems" last week to accomidations today. Wonder if it was hounding the state's director of special education or the district's that did the most good. Either way it looks like we managed to light a fire under somebody's a@#. Now crossing my fingers and toes that it continues.

After all of these years of pleading and begging for help............after all of the new issues Cody has gained because no one would take the time to listen..............I'm not really sure that I care that they think I am a . Moms gotta do what moms gotta do for their babies.

Maybe everything that begins well doesn't exactly end well....today anyway. Cody had problems this afternoon, and needed time out of class. I had to come up there for that. He had two boys on either side of him causing problems. One by wispering in his ear, the other tapping his hand and taking his pencil. This while the teacher was infront of the classroom talking. Of course the teacher did nothing to stop the other two and Cody reacted. He did pick up a ruler and I agree that he shouldn't have.....but he did not hit anyone. After I went up there we took him to PE with a former little league coach and let him spend the day there. Ok I guess that worked, I'm not impressed but I guess that worked. Then right at 5 the assistant principal called and told me that he and the principal will be gone in meetings tomorrow. He asked me to keep Cody home. I agreed, I really am trying to be nice and cooperate. Cody will have his classwork. So we have half a day back after a 3 day suspension, gonna be out another day and tests on Friday. I just don't know how this will work out. I'm so frustrated that I can hardly think and I can't seem to get my homework done. Maybe at this point I really am going insane.

Can I ask, if they ask you to not send him, what does that point serve? That the teachers can't handle him and the only way he can get on with life is if certain people are there?
I hope that didn't sound rude, it wasn't meant that way.
Mikey gets moved if there are too many distractions around him, why couldn't they move Cody away from the other 2. To me it sounds as if it the start of bullying because they get away with it.
Here's a ((((((((((hat and Broom))))))))) for you, use it as much as you like

I agree. If others are causing distractions, can the teacher move him to a carrol or a separate area in the room? Seems like maybe he should be permitted to get up and move if he needs to.
Don't let up. Telling you to keep him home is NOT the answer, and shouldn't be. Your son is entitled to FAPE!!
Keep up the advocating! Kris
