Finmom, my 10yo also has a mouth on him, I think this stage is preparation for whats to come its a difficult age they are to old for toys yet to young for teen stuff they get bored and moody easy !

BOY can I relate when you said everything is MOMS fault.... just this morning little monster was bouncing off the walls!!! it was MY fault big guy coulnt'nd hear the tv...

last week my 10yo was at a sleep-over DH & I where going nuts , it was to quiet ;D we are never happy ;D

Mayby you´re right, 10y is not easy, expecially for my ds who´s the oldest and boy w/ adhd... having to be the older bro for 2 mouthy 7 and 4 y old sister´s is not easy, when mom and dad are having expectation´s for his behaviour too Oh, I almost feel bad for him...almost....

My next door neighbor is having a b'day party for her 5 yr old daughter RIGHT NOW. DH is the DJ and there is a Mr. Bouncy inflatable in the yard, and about 20 screaming 5 yr. old girls.

I have just had the last 7 days with only a cat mewing and now THIS! Michael was missing his drum set, and so of course he is upstairs competing with his father's DJ music for "loudest on the block" musical gig.

I think I am going to move to Australia!

Seriously... I´ve been questioning about myself lately... Am I a "good-enough"parent/mom or just faking it .... Nothing serious or big has happend, but I just feel I could do better, I SHOULD DO BETTER, so why dont I

Mayby it´s just that my vacation is off, I have to go to work at monday and I find myself not wanting to... I love the work(lot´s of big, new thing´s coming on the way), but thinking about the work, school, morning´s , being a mom.... I feel tired already Plus; the summer is already almost gone, it mean´s that winter is on the way and I just dont feel like being able to cope with 5 month´s of snow yet
Sorry about the pity-party, not intended to have one...

Nothing worse than time to yourself to think deep thoughts. Often the worse thoughts come creeping into your mind to create doubt, fear and chaos. It is good to have those thoughts once in a while to keep you in check. The point is, that we all strive to do the best we can with what we got. The truth is that we can all do better in some parts of our lives. We just can't let that overwhelm us. We all want more, that is human nature. At times from where we are sitting it looks like we need to do more, but from what I see you are a great mom, and you have done way more than most moms around the world.

marja...I think sometimes we try to be the perfect parent...but that can't be done of course because we are only human.!!We also get very overwhelmed with everything we have to do!

I so look forward to summer break but sometimes there is as much stress involved in the summer too.

you´re right Linda, summer is nice and feel´s really hard to enter to the normal again, but I know work is the best for me in a long run.... it was nice to be at home too.... UGH, I have such a mixtured feeling´s of this

Marja, you are not alone in your feelings right now. This week is the last week of summer vacation for Cami and I find the knots in my stomach forming already. Though I work through the summer it is still a break for me because I don't have the morning struggles and rush to deal with and when I get off I can come home to a care-free child that isn't laboring over homework. I dread the start of school with all I have and I do it every year! Sometimes I feel like I dread it more so than Cami. She has been growing bored the last couple weeks and is ready to get back to break the boredeom, but I guess it is just due to past experiences that I just dread it every year. It seems like summer vacation just started yesterday and here it is one week away from ending already! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Christy, just what i ment; I dread the school morning´s already, I know those will be PAIN And .... it´s gonna last for 9 month´s Morning´s are the only thing I really dread about school, all the other thing´s I can handle(or i think I can ) but morning´s-struggle I end up yelling and I know perfect parent´s dont do that

Chiming in here (LATE!) with a 17 year old ... and honestly, honestly IT GETS BETTER!! .. (once you get over the horrible 13 year old stage that is!! ) ...

13 in "my" book (and in many others I have spoken to) was the PITS !!

After that the climb 'generally speaking' goes uphill .... and NO NO NO it ISN't "pain free" but it is sure an improvement (albeit " Different"!!) from the younger years ...
