$2,800 IS A LOT OF MONEY. Wouldn't it be great if the insurance companies would pick up the tab?

I think the kids would benefit from the camp being that they get the same reinforcement every day from the same people. I think what is lost in a lot of therapy is that you hear it in an hour, and try to implement it at home, but there are too many life distractions to do it exactly as said in the office. It would be interesting to hear what the patents think and follow up with after the camp. Also the child/parent relationship is a lot different from the child/therapist relationship. Miles

I just read about one of these camps in a magazine. The web site that was given didn't work, and I couldn't where other camps are located. Birmingham is about 4 hours from here, which is a little far for a day camp. The price is the real killer, though.
We use a point system with DS, and it works pretty well.

Ha! $2800 is about the average around here for one kid! That's why next summer I'm hiring a nanny for the whole summer for a flat fee. I already have someone who's interested.
I'd be willing to pay the price if a camp like this really helped ds, but he's actually doing pretty well!
