I had my bandages taken of yesterday and I am totally AMAZED at what they did with my ear! All my life it has stuck out and looked goofy compared to the other ear, but I never paid much attention to it b/c I was so used to it.
When they took those bandages off and I saw how nice it laid down, I had to cry. I felt so silly, but I guess I never realized how much it bothered me until then. Now I cannot wait until the stitches are out and I can wear ponytails, or even get a cute short hair cut.
This adds more fuel to my theory that if it bothers you that much, fix it. I know this sounds like a shallow theory, but I think when you have things fixed or corrected, it adds to your self-confidence.

Becky, that is wonderful news! And I can totally agree with what you are saying.... All my life I had very crooked and awful looking teeth! I had one that actually gre ABOVE the others because it had nowhere ele to go! My mom never could afford braces.... so I had to endure. All my life I was very self-conscience of this. You would never see me smiling... all pics of me as a child, and esp. a teen, and even my two weddings have me smiling closed mouth. I used to talk with my hand over my mouth a lot too! Anyway, when I was in my late twenties, after marrying my now dh, I got braces finally! He knew how much it meant to me and found a way for us to afford them. I wore them into my early thirties. I will never forgot the day they were removed. I too cried at the site of my pretty straight teeth! For the first time I could smile confidently! And I still am amazed when I see a picture of myself and I'm smiling!
Go get that haircut, or those cute ponytail holders and hairclips and show off those ears!!! It is not shallow at all!
Keep getting better and keep us informed of the test results....

Glad your are feeling better Becky. You want some fancy pony tail holders? I can wing em out with all the scrap fabric I got around here.
Isn't it wierd how you don't think about certain things until they change just because you were used to it? Kaiti

Glad you are doing better Becky! So, when do you get the stitches taken out? If you want a new DO go get it. Pull out those ponytail holders and put that hair up. I'm sure you are very beautiful with your new look, although you were before the surgery too.

Thanks guys, you are all so sweet. ;D
I'm gonna wait on the hair until I know that the incision and stuff has all healed up good then I just might get in cut off. I think my mom wanted me to the same day I had the surgury done. She is obsessive that once you are 25 you MUST have short hair. It is the weirdest rule and I still don't get it??

I have an aunt that is like that, except for her it's age 40. She used to drive my stepmom crazy about getting her haircut (she is also a beautician). So, I guess by your mom's standards, I'm 10 years behind, and by my aunt's I have 5 years to go. I just look at it like this: it's your hair, do with it what you want.
