*GRRRRRRRRR* My son Conner is almost six years old. He's been on the same medicine perscription for over two years now (adderall xr). It's been WONDERFUL in tems of calming him down - but not changing his personality! Well let me tell you....SOMETHING has changed! He's still the sweet little boy I've always known, but he is SO SO SO hyper!! He talks CONSTANTLY in a LOUD voice... He constantly has to be moving, and it's almost like he has NO medicine in his system even an hour after he takes it! I don't know if he's this way because he's growing up, or because of the medication not working as well... What do you think? He just can't stop yelling and talking loudly...He gets upset easily and sometimes hits other kids - but not enough to really concern me as being aggressive... Help, I need a large order of heavy duty tape and a rope to tie him down with so I can have some peace! Anna

Probably time for a med change....A lot of kids can't take Adderral...what works for one may not work for another. P.S. If you think you are going nuts.... YOU ARE NOT!!!!....Just seems that way. We all know and think about the tape!!! ;D ;D ;D

I agree with Linda, it may be time for a med change or an increase because he has grown. My son was on Adderal for a few years but we had to stop because of rebound anger, violence problems. We tried Concerta but that didn't help as well as the Adderall so.... after another 2 years we are back on the Adderall with Wellbutrin added as a "mood stabilizer" and it seems to be working! You are not nuts.... just the mom of an ADHDer so you gotta be crazy just to cope some days! ;D Sue
