Boy, it has been a challenging week. We are hosting our niece and nephew while my brother and sister-in-law move across the state. We decided to take them to a theme park for the day. Within two hours, I did not have voice to speak of. Constantly yelling to stop, slow down and calling their names. We managed all twelve hours together, but vowed to never do this again. I imagine much like child birth, we will forget the agony we had, and do it again some day. I forgot to mention. All three kids are between 6 and 8 and are ADHHHHHHHHHD. And stubborn, we were constantly playing good parent/bad parent tag team. Well, the movie is just about done and have to get them refocused on something new. Have a great one everyone. Miles

You are soooo brave! We avoid theme parks and have never ever taken the boys...Bud got to go in 6th grade and it rained all day so he doesn't care to go back ;D We used to do the zoo route...atleast they stop long enough at each animal for us to rest...and the lines are shorter. Cant imagine waiting in line with 3 adhd kids. No way! ;D

Ben there, done that, got the key chain ;D ;D ;D Let's see, what's worse is a mouthy daughter that talk big and screams when she is on the ride only for her mother to have no pity and tell her to quit whining or she can't go on any more ;D ;D ;D But I don't know who that would be ;D ;D ;D We were so cheap, instead of standing in line for a log flume, we would wait were you get really wet ;D ;D ;Dhey, still got wet AND no lines

Thanks for the replies to all. It was a challenge, but after a while we learned what would happen and anticipated it. Like we knew Nate would say I am so bored standing in line. I knew they would all be climbing up the railings, so they all got wedgies when I picked them off the rails by the shorts. Yes Anne the entertaining is over, and Nate misses them so much. But the way he expresses it is not the way most people do, his way has been aggression, anger, defiance, and taunting. We now suspect the root cause of this is anxiety, but that is another post. I think that´s pretty "normal" with adhd kid´s to react to all that fun and excitement by anger(in some measur´s anyway). My ds is a bit like that, everytima he´s had fun, good time with my folk´s etc. this angry, crumpy little boy visit´s us....luckily for us, is not for long time... Mayby it´s so overwhelming that he cant cope with all that (I´am not tryingto underestimate the anxiety etc. on Nate´s case...)

When I go places with ADHD kids it seems normal. I usually ware out all of the young people when they go with me to theme parks and other adventures. I guess the difference is that I have ADHD also. The pace seems normal to me. Maybe some of the people with ADHD kids neen some stimulant to keep up with the pace the kids set. You could let the kids plan trips to theme parks and charge people money to go with them, It could be a weight loss program. Guaranteed to lose five pounds in one week.

George, I agree with you that you can keep up when you have all that energy too. But what drags on me is the mental part of it. When you get 3 people that want to go three different directions and the me playing the peace maker all day. That is what gets me. We did spend the entire day at the beach following the theme park. The combination of hot sun and cool water had them all tuckered out by the end of the day. Too bad the venture part in them wanted to keep going out deeper and deeper. By the way, I pleaded with my wife to hire a baby sitter to come along too, just to break up the group for a while, but we just got wore out. Miles
